Private schools, even ones subsidized by your tax dollars, don't have to take every child. In Texas, of 257 voucher schools surveyed by the Texas Observer, fewer than a dozen said they offer special education.
Children the system won't take land back in public schools. And those schools—which do have to take every child—are in crisis, from low reading and math scores to widespread chronic absenteeism.

Pretty wild that Albertans haven't seen a minimum wage increase since 2018, yet the @UCPCaucus & @ABDanielleSmith feel comfortable giving themselves a pay raise every year. Alberta has the lowest minimum wage in Canada! Plus we pay the highest for electricty + more.
Hello @cbcmarketplace you really should do an investigation into Canpar. How can CANada’s PARcel service fail to deliver almost every parcel? They are rated 1.1/5 in Trustpilot and the lowest possible score is 1… #canada

Presumably because I’m in Alberta my Facebook feed is often full of posts from homeschooling groups. Today someone was offering to sell these homemade educational resources and hundreds of homeschoolers wanted to buy them. #edchat
In case you’re wondering, the official diagnosis (after being hooked up to an IV in the ER, sent for an ultrasound and referred to a surgeon) is “sometimes we just have to be grateful for the moments when our body IS working properly”. 😐 😐😐😐😐😐
My family doctor called me and asked me to come in 15 minutes early for my appointment so I did. I’ve now been waiting in the exam room for 58 minutes. 😐
Six minutes to closing and my phone battery is at 10%. Good thing I know the phone number for the AHS pharmacy in case I get locked in here.

At the doctor and I’ve overheard three patients call in to say they received a confirmation email for an upcoming appointment that is off by an hour from what they booked. They can apparently thank @ABDanielleSmith’s random decision to stop rolling back the clocks. #abpoli
Just got yelled at on the phone by a man who refused to believe I wasn't the pharmacy. Why didn't he believe me? Because the hospital transferred his call to me! He didn't dial the wrong number - the hospital transferred his call to a random person to discuss his prescription.

Fun fact! One of my colleagues currently has a Grade 9 math class with 52 students in it. This will remain this way until re-org at the end of September. Then a bunch of student and teacher timetables will have to change.
