🎃 Halloween is almost here, and we’re bringing a little more light to Detroit’s neighborhoods.
Last night, we celebrated 2,000 new midblock lights installed across our city. That puts us two-thirds of the way to our goal of 3,000 through Brighten Up the Block!
Detroiters asked for brighter blocks. We listened, and we’re delivering just in time for Halloween.
Now, we’re making more residential blocks brighter for our families, including the little ones heading out to trick-or-treat.
With over 2,000 new mid-block lights installed throughout our neighborhoods, this Administration is making Halloween and all the days that follow one that is lit 😉💡
Detroit is growing but growth means nothing if Detroiters can’t find a home here. We’re changing that.
Today, we’re launching Project 1,000: a citywide strategy to help deliver 1,000 newly constructed homes in Detroit🧵
For too long, building a home in Detroit meant navigating land, zoning, design and permits one step at a time. We’re bringing those pieces together so the people building homes have the full support of City government.
Detroit, we’ve got some homework to do!
Know who’s running, know where they stand, and don’t forget to vote. Our kids are counting on us.
Last week, I was happy to help kick off our State of the Youth Tour at DEPSA, with 24 public and charter schools in the pipeline.
Detroit’s students deserve the best this city has to offer. And that starts with meaningful conversations, investment & collaboration. 📚
Detroit’s got something special, and our young people know it best.
We’re kicking off the State of the Youth Tour with one question: What makes Detroit…Detroit?
Detroit, Election Day is November 3rd but why wait? 👀 Early voting runs October 24th through November 1st. Make your plan and let’s get to it!
Former Mayor Coleman A. Young’s legacy lives and breathes throughout Detroit. Now, it will be preserved in the National Statuary Hall Collection in our nation’s capital.
Detroit’s history is American history, and we will continue to honor Mayor Young’s legacy as we rise higher.
