I went to a suicide prevention presentation last night. Takeaways were LOCK UP YOUR GUNS. Don't be afraid to ask kids about ideation and don't freak out if they are experiencing it. LOCK UP YOUR GUNS. And program 988 in your phone so you don't have to find it in a crisis.
It is illegal to try to convert Muslims in Algeria. Bishop Barron can go there and try whatever he thinks counts as conversion attempts.
He would end up harming the local Catholic populace.
In some cases shining our light through fraternal action and using caution is best.

Well, another Cardinal has come out with a, shall we say, puzzling take on evangelization.
A few years ago, Cardinal Américo Aguiar, at the time auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, said that he and the other organizers of World Youth Day in his hometown had no interest in converting anyone to Christ.
Now Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco of Algeria has opined that “the Church is not there to convert” and “Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions.”
Excuse me, but…what?
Last time I checked, the Founder said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Sure sounds like conversion to me.
When St. Paul came to Corinth or Athens or Thessalonica, his purpose was not to listen or to form a discussion group but rather to declare an unnerving message: the euangelion (glad tidings) that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.
So impassioned is he for this work that he says, “I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:22); and “If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:16)!
Moreover, the entire thrust of the Second Vatican Council was toward bringing the Light of Christ to the peoples of the world (Lumen Gentium). And this missionary élan has given rise in the last few decades to the idea of a “new evangelization,” which is to say, a fresh declaration of the Lordship of Christ.
Quite obviously, no one thinks that this work of evangelization should be done in a brow-beating, overbearing, or disrespectful manner (proselytization), but for God’s sake, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
If I really thought that the Church does not exist to bring people to Christ, then I would resign and get an honest job.

BOURDAIN: Once you’ve had acorn salad and damson cordial at Redwall Abbey you’ll never stop wanting to crush Cluny the Scourge with a bell.
I know of cases in India where foreign missionaries have come in swashbuckling to "save the heathens" and made life harder for the existing Christians.
Sometimes prudence dictates moving respectfully and slowly in other cultures and religions.

For anyone who thinks it is funny that Cubans are being deported because Cubans lean Republican, no one who is being deported can vote.
It IS funny when an actual documented ICE supporter is deported, i.e. Milo.

ICE deports 10 Cuban refugees—to African country they've never been to.
"This is a kidnapping," woman said.
"Tricked us saying we were going to Miami—ended up in Africa.
Hands & feet shackled entire 25 hour flight.
"They hit me, pulled my hair, threw me against plane windows," said another woman.
"It was horrible! They forced me down among men."
Several women showed marks and bruises on their arms—and swollen feet that made it hard to walk after being shackled.
Their passports and phones were confiscated or destroyed by ICE agents.
Leaving them without identification or a way to contact anyone.
Now worry about being detained by local police in Bangui, Central African Republic—because they have no documents or legal status.

And if you think you are exempt from the violence and lawlessness of this government because you assume your group won't be targeted, think again. That's wishful thinking, you could be directly hurt in some way, and we all have to live in the society this creates.
Unfortunately, YES.

so people have to hire lawyers and plan years ahead just to keep the savings they worked their whole lives for?
Jones Brothers and SDM tried to block me and others from entering the lot to vote at the Community Foundation of Middle TN.
I managed to turn into an adjacent lot they didn’t tell us existed and was available and a disabled voter in group had difficulty accessing the polls.
I explained to the SDM employee that he was blocking voters from accessing the polls and asked who the contractor was and he wouldn’t tell me, just insisted we couldn’t go in.
I've seen people destroyed by drugs and felt anger at those who sell, but it does not make sense to continue the system that penalizes and incarcerates them for profit.
The proxy thing is a lie. The KKK comes from the pit of hell. The KKK tried to kill my white ancestor because he believed black kids and white kids deserve equal educations.
I have all his congressional testimony against the KKK and they were EVIL

Do NOT trust the polls. A blue wave won't happen unless you personally make it happen. Vote and encourage everyone you know to vote.
