As the 89th Legislative session prepares to convene in January, Board Listening Circle #4 advocated for some necessary changes for students, staff, & families. We collaborated & identified state-level legislative priorities that could benefit KISD students. Oh, what a night ❤

Before you say “turn and talk,” do a quick QSSSA prep check: Is the question worth discussing? Did students get think time? Do they have a useful stem? Do they know how the share will work? A little structure makes the conversation much more purposeful! #QSSSA

Amira's goal isn't more screen time. It is helping students build the confidence to step away from the screen and pick up a real book. Just 30 focused minutes with Amira each week leaves more time for reading physical books.

It was a great pleasure to run into Area Superintendent Rahsan Smith a few Fridays ago. He asked me how did I like working for KISD? I began to tell him about all of my wonderful experiences as a parent & staff. He said, "I can talk about this all day!" and I said, "Me too!!" 😁
