This is former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, being used in a hospital advert after undergoing knee replacement surgery in India. These so-called “experienced leaders” had every opportunity while in power to build first-class healthcare facilities in Nigeria. Yet, in old age, they travel abroad for the very medical care they failed to make adequately available at home and can even end up as advertisements for foreign hospitals. At this rate, perhaps one day a hospital in France will be using a Nigerian president, Tinubu for its adverts. What a tragic indictment of decades of failed leadership and neglect of Nigeria’s healthcare system.

A guy cancelled Disney+ because he "watched everything." He'd seen 40 titles. Disney+ has 16,000. He watched 0.25% of the library and quit. His roommate grabbed the remote, typed 4 letters into the search bar IMAX and his screen changed. 26 Marvel movies appeared in a format he'd never seen. 26% more picture. The version he'd been watching was cropped. Then he changed one setting. Hundreds of R-rated movies appeared that were invisible 30 seconds ago. Then he tapped one tab. Hours of deleted scenes and documentaries he never knew existed. "You didn't run out of content. You never found it. Disney+ has 16,000 titles. The homepage shows 40. You've been judging a warehouse by the window display." Here are 10 Disney+ features most subscribers have never found:🧵

SAUDI AIR PASSENGERS AND BAGGAGE ISSUES We hear your complaints, and we read your comments. Nobody is happy about this; and we are not silent. When the NCAA intervened last week, 8 tons of luggage was flown in. However, considering that over three thousand passengers are affected, it means that an estimated 180 tons of passenger luggage are still stuck in Jeddah. I have spent all night discussing with the country manager whose son, sadly, is undergoing surgery at the moment. While we empathized with him (been praying with him for two days over this), I have also stressed the need to have someone else take over his duties, albeit temporarily. He has directed me to one Omar, with whom I will be having a conversation this morning. However, the airline has said that it would be compensating affected passengers who file a complaint via the link provided below: saudia.com/en/forms/complain… Also, they have pledged to fly in the luggage in the next few days. For passengers who need a refund for tickets purchased, follow the link below: refund.saudiairlines.com/tkt… The airline has cited specific challenges out of Kano that have affected their carriage of bags in recent times, and the NCAA is stepping in to assist the operator to resolve those challenges. Saudi has been advised to take consumer protection very seriously. To this end, the airline has appointed a new country manager to handle their Nigeria operations, and to forge a closer relationship with both the NCAA and its Nigerian passengers. Be assured that we are not sleeping on this. I may not be able to reply directly to EVERY tag, but, you can help by reposting this until it gets to all Saudi passengers that have been affected. Good morning.

Politics is all about interests. But the interesting thing about interests is that you can choose to consider human suffering, competence, and the actual impact you can make while pursuing those interests. The problem begins when your interest is solely about what you can gain, rather than what you can change or contribute. That’s where you lose the plot. But yes, I completely agree, “politics is about interests”.

When we succeed, may we not see others’ failures as complacency. Sometimes, success makes even the smartest of us to think that they can’t lose.

Your Samsung TV took a screenshot of your screen 6 seconds ago. It just took another one. And another. Right now while you're reading this on your phone your TV is sitting on your wall. Powered off. Except it's not really off. It's watching. Logging. Sending. Every show you watched last night. Every movie this weekend. Every YouTube video. Every app. Sent to Samsung. Sent to advertisers. Sold. You didn't know. But that's not the worst part. The worst part is what your TV looks like. You paid $1,500. You're watching a $400 picture. Right now. Tonight. On purpose. By Samsung. A home theater installer said 9 words that made a man unplug his TV and call him immediately: "Your TV has never shown you what it can do." "Not once. Not one minute. Since the day you took it out of the box. Every frame of every show and every movie you have ever watched on that TV you watched wrong." "The colors are wrong. Samsung oversaturated them for a showroom." "The motion is wrong. Samsung smoothed it so movies look like soap operas." "The brightness is wrong. Samsung dimmed it 40% to save energy you never asked to save." "The resolution is wrong. You're watching 1080p on a 4K panel because one toggle is set wrong." "The lag is wrong. Your gaming controller feels slow because the TV is adding 80 milliseconds of delay you can't see." "The dark scenes are wrong. You can't see half of what's happening because Samsung crushed every shadow." "Everything is wrong. Every setting. Every default. All of them optimized for a fluorescent-lit showroom floor at Best Buy. You brought those settings home 3 years ago. You've been watching a store demo in your living room ever since." "And while you watched your TV watched you. Every frame. Every second. Screenshotted and sold." "12 minutes. 9 settings. That's all it takes. Same TV. Same wall. Same remote. Completely different screen." "The TV you paid for is trapped behind 9 settings you've never touched." Here are 9 Samsung TV settings you need to change before you watch anything else: 🧵

If you’re in Nigeria and searching for remote jobs on LinkedIn, try changing your search location to EMEA. EMEA = Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Nigeria is part of the region. You may find roles where companies are hiring across the region rather than restricting the role to one country. Another advantage is time-zone overlap. Nigeria is UTC+1, while much of Europe and the Middle East operates within nearby time zones. That makes collaboration, meetings, and working hours easier for many companies. But please, don’t assume that EMEA = automatically eligible. Always read the job description and check the location and work authorization requirements before applying.
