It’s so heartening to see quite a few women and girls driving their scooties and motorbikes on the streets of Lyallpur. During 2022 and 2023 @InterloopLtd trained around 2,800 women to drive motorbikes with the assistance of @FoundationSufi and today we see the results Alhamdulillah.
@SalmanSufi7
As we notice women Scooty revolution & its acceptance by general public in Pakistan, one must acknowledge two visionaries who initiated women training to ride and providing them scooties on easy terms. Thank you @SalmanSufi7 @MusadaqZ of Interloop! Off the back seat dawn.com/news/2041297

Quintessential capitalism
A compelling argument by @zafar_masud
However, microenterprises such as small dairy herds can become viable and sustainable with reliable market access. For example a commercial enterprise, also supported through concessional credit initially, could provide training, veterinary care, feed and assured milk buyback, deducting input costs from proceeds. This can create a sustainable ecosystem

"If I had one piece of advice for other manufacturers, it would be this: don't wait for perfect conditions before investing in the future. The industry rarely gives you that opportunity. Progress comes from making consistent decisions over many years, learning from setbacks and staying committed even when the path becomes less predictable than you expected."

Pakistan restored overflight rights to Taiwanese carriers, according to a person familiar with the situation, abruptly reversing a move to deny them airspace access in support of Beijing’s One-China policy bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
A well written and balanced piece
Why farmer's losses need to be treated as an emergency
“Pakistan cannot keep treating the farmer's loss as an acceptable price of affordable food. That contradiction sits at the centre of our wheat economy.”

Thank you for this, and for having raised the human development alarm. You are right that the girl child carries the heavier burden. She receives less care, less attention, less of the stimulation that builds a mind as well as a body.
Births too close together pass that deprivation straight to the next generation.
Beneath it lies a deeper malaise. As a society, we discount the future hyperbolically: tomorrow counts for little, the decade after for almost nothing.
Ending stunting would cost about Rs 1 trillion a year. We fail to collect several times that every year in taxes owed, and what we do spend too often misses the districts and the mothers who need it most.
The dividend arrives between 2040 and 2070, too far away for us to value it. So the girl in Jamshoro waits, and her children will inherit the wait.
What has happened in Islamabad over the past 6–7 decades bears a disturbing resemblance to the dispossession of Native Americans by colonisers. In the name of urbanisation and development, indigenous communities have been deprived of their ancestral lands and cultural heritage to serve the interests of the elite. And further urban expansion might repeat the same injustice for the benefit of the wealthy.

Get ready for concretization & ugly commercialization of a beautiful natural habitat & delicate ecology in name of development. People of #Islamabad must save this precious green space from those who have nothing but malice for trees. Tell them Just #PlantMoreTrees #SaveF9Park
It was a privilege to once again chair the Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee for Pakistan. Truly heartwarming to meet such exceptionally bright and talented young Pakistanis. Selecting just two scholars from ten outstanding finalists was incredibly difficult. Wishing all of them the very best!

Pakistan needs more entrepreneurs who invest, innovate and create value!
Kudos to @MusadaqZ, one of Pakistan’s most admired entrepreneurs, for another bold $55 million investment driving industrial growth, import substitution and exports.
Pleased to announce that, by the grace of God Almighty, @ILHoldings (Interloop Holdings), in partnership with Rella Gida of Türkiye, is embarking on the construction of a new dairy processing plant under IL Foods Limited, with an investment of US$ 55 million (PKR 15 billion).
The state-of-the-art facility will produce a range of cheeses and butter, as well as Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC80), a high-value protein product. We also aim to export part of the production, contributing to Pakistan’s value-added exports.
With the commissioning of this new facility, our combined annual milk processing capacity will reach 180 million litres.
This investment reflects our continued commitment to value addition, technological advancement, import substitution, and the development of Pakistan’s dairy industry.

Unnecessary noise about “brain drain”! Over the last 10 years, an average of 604,000 Pakistanis went abroad annually for employment, predominantly in labour categories. Only COVID years saw a sharp decline. With millions entering our workforce and over 500,000 graduates annually, we should facilitate more skilled workers and graduates finding better opportunities abroad, supporting their families and significantly boosting remittances.

70% of the raw materials we use come from sustainable sources.
That means more responsibly sourced cotton, recycled fibres and certified materials going into what we make.
