Verified. A fire at Savannah River National Laboratory on Oct 28 triggered a Site Area Emergency and FAA temporary flight restrictions labeled a US govt nuclear incident. The fire was extinguished, emergency terminated by 9:45 pm local time. Officials confirmed no detectable contamination outside the facility. One employee sustained minor injuries.

As forecasted a high-magnitude earthquake (M6.4 Chile Fracture Zone Oct. 29th 2026) has struck near the antipode location of the M7.0 Tibet Earthquake from Oct. 22nd. The location area and timing was on point, only the magnitude of this quake is lower than originally forecast. That makes sense as a M6.4 is already quite strong for an oceanic transform junction (notice how it occurred on the longest transform section of the entire region), and it still leaves room for a larger earthquake to fulfill the original forecast.
Earthquake watch M6.8+ is in effect for the Peru-Chile subduction zone and the South-East Pacific Rise based on it being located close to the antipode of the recent magnitude 7.0 earthquake which struck Tibet (red circle, blue diamond). The time window for this is ~2 months, but it's likely to be much sooner than that (<1 month).
It's most likely to align with a gravitational peak (New Moon, Full Moon) and/or significant space weather event. The next Full Moon is on October 26th just two days after the Inferior Conjunction of Venus (Sun-Venus-Earth alignment). The next week is the most critical period.
Because we're talking about the subduction zone home to the strongest earthquakes possible (M9.5+), and considering the recent M7.0+ EQ activity to the north (M7.2 and M7.5 Venezuela, M7.3 Mexico, M7.4 Colombia, M7.7 Panama) I think a magnitude 7.3+ earthquake is actually more likely for Peru/Chile than the lower range of M6.8-7.3. For the SEPR the range is more like M6.5 to M7.1. There hasn't been a magnitude 7.0+ EQ for this part of South America in 2+ years so it's also overdue.
