With the Ballon d'Or winner soon to be announced, which past players do you think deserved to win, but weren't high profile enough to be truly considered?
I'll go first. My GOAT Diego Ribas da Cunha (2009).
They are our ten finalists for the 2026 Ballon d’Or… who you got?
🇫🇷 Ousmane Dembélé
🇳🇴 Erling Haaland
🏴 Harry Kane
🇬🇪 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappé
🇦🇷 Lionel Messi
🇫🇷 Michael Olise
🇪🇸 Fabián Ruiz
🇪🇸 Rodri
🇪🇸 Lamine Yamal

In 3 seasons as Leverkusen manager, Alonso apparently only faced Bayern twice and Dortmund once. Peculiar.
Xabi Alonso in big matches as a manager:
❌ 0-2 vs Spurs
❌ 1-2 vs Arsenal
❌ 2-3 vs Barcelona
✅ 2-1 vs Atlético Madrid
❌ 1-2 vs Man City
❌ 0-1 vs Liverpool
✅ 2-1 vs Barcelona
❌ 2-5 vs Atlético Madrid
❌ 0-4 vs PSG
❌ 2-4 vs Dortmund
❌ 0-2 vs Bayern
❌ 0-3 vs Bayern
❌ 0-4 vs Liverpool
❌ 0-3 vs Atalanta
14 big matches. 2 wins. 12 losses.
Embarrassing.
Did you know...
...Steve Bruce has authored 3 novels? They're bad. Like, really really bad.
But they can help me explore my relationship with Football Manager and #FM27
