(3/3) * If you're an instructor and sign a flight and copy the flight being signed to your logbook, any solo time in the flight being signed is subtracted from the total time and instructor time in your copy of the flight.

(2/3) * Visited airports now has a checkbox to do connect-the-dots of the routes you have flown. That functionality has always been there as an "easter egg" (add "path=1" to the URL; still works), but now it's exposed

As penance for yesterday's issues, I've just updated the website (1/3): * I tracked down the root cause from yesterday and not only fixed that but also added extra guards against it

Updating Android and iOS apps today. Functional changes are minor (a few bug fixes, updated airport databases). But the iOS is a complete rewrite in Swift (had been Objective-C). PLEASE LET ME KNOW if you have any issues, ideally including steps to reproduce the problem!!

Someone had requested the ability to show all *except* for the selected flights on the website. I just added the ability to invert your selection, which enables this.

(4/4) When I'm ready to do that release, I hope you'll give the beta a try and help me shake out any bugs that I've missed. I'm already running the new code on my phone, and so far it's working fine. Thanks

(3/4) So, at the end of February, I dove in to the code and begin manually, line-by-line. Today, I finished that. I have been testing as I've been going along, but I want to do a bit more testing/tweaking, and then I will want to release a beta.

(2/4) The difference was that Android provided automatic conversion tools that got me about 95% of the way there, so I only had to spend about 2 days on the last 5%; Apple, on the other hand, provides...absolutely nothing.

(1/4) I know I've gone a bit dark over the past 5-6 weeks. I finally decided that it was time to convert the iOS codebase from Objective-C to Swift. I did a similar task for the Android app last year, moving from Java to Kotlin.

New updates of the iOS and android apps are available now. You can customize the color used for routes and paths on your maps. And in Android, for the first time, you can select what kind of map you want. If you use iOS widgets, you will need to re-install the widgets

Updated iOS, Android apps today. Main update is that cross-fill from approaches and landings should now work to the various approach/landing properties. E.g., if you have 4 approaches can cross-fill to "Approaches - ILS"

Updated android app available today. Please let me know if you run into any issues. Not a lot of new functionality, but as I mentioned a few weeks ago, I ended up touching a ton of code to bring things up to more modern android standards

Today's small enhancements (both website): * Can make custom currencies active/inactive * Optional (additional) columns in print layouts now offer short headers, which makes them more space efficient
Some tips for making a good looking printout of your logbook, if you're so inclined. myflightbookblog.blogspot.co…

iOS update just went out. Main new feature is that the recent flights are now variable height (as Android has been forever - don't get me started about what I think of the iOS environment), so "high" density information will show everything. Also updated airport database.
