From Scarborough to the Silver Screen this #MSL ep with author Paul Myers is brimming with charm!
Starting with #SCTV, John Candy became a treasure whose big ❤️ made the world laugh.
Paul and I unpack his highly recommended #JohnCandy bio.🎧 #EarJoy

John Candy was the lovable face of a comedy cultural coup.
With John Candy: A Life in Comedy, Paul Myers has written a biography of Canada’s Charismatic Clown—and the witty revolution that made a generations laugh. 🎤
Good Gravy this is a lot of ruckus!
And...the main guy says: Everything has to end here! Yes! 100% in just for that line.
And...there are sais!! Yes!
And...it's even got a classic 90s action movie title: Never Surrender!!! Yes!
November 12 on Netflix...yes! #SetTheVCR
Some of the movies Michael Stasko & I discuss on this MSL episode: Plan 9 from Outer Space (#EdWood!), Invaders from Mars, They Live, Night of the Living Dead and more.
Magic comes up often in our convo because these movies are truly...magic. #earjoy

Paris as well, would be special. That city just works for U2. #PantsWorthy

#TedBundy is not...Case Closed?!
That's surreal to still be claiming bodies & on the same day Peacock dropped the trailer for "OJ's Accomplice." Also not Case Closed.
For all the vapid noise we make on social media our ignorance is boundless. We talk a lot but don't know a lot.
Serial killer Ted Bundy is linked to another Utah teenager's 1974 murder through new DNA testing, prosecutor says. apnews.com/article/ted-bundy…

This is what Blumhouse should be investing in. (Also: This is a far more effective secret-corporate-science retcon on a beloved slasher property than whatever is going on right now in CRYSTAL LAKE and CARRIE.)
A recently discovered lost film reel with footage dating back to Halloween 1960 contains disturbing evidence that a young Michael Myers was once a subject of the Silver Shamrock Corporation’s top-secret experiments, conducted under the codename PROJECT SHAMROCK.

Decent: #Toronto has a new mural.
LA gets Shepard Fairey which is cooler. (We have one Shep out on Queen!) Keep going, bring the cool.
And visiting Cabbagetown lets you drop by George A. Romero. He's buried in Toronto Necropolis, Section P.
There’s a new mural in Cabbagetown. 🍁
Ecology of Us, a new 22-storey mural by Jarus at 140 Carlton St., transforms a building into a tribute to the maple tree that stood nearby in Allan Gardens.
This City of Toronto, StreetARToronto mural advances reconciliation, diversity, equity and inclusion through public art, mentorship and community engagement, building more welcoming streets and a shared sense of belonging.🌳🎨

You can’t pitch “examines the often-flawed systems” without acknowledging social media’s damage.
The consistent inability to vet & select accurate information has created a vicious Info Wars.
This is really how we want to live online: not just for this topic but for all topics?
The explosive lawsuit brought by Jane Doe against Cornell University has sparked vocal protests on campus and visceral backlash online.
INSTADOCS: JANE DOE v. CORNELL examines the often-flawed systems that investigate student sexual assault claims — including campus police and Title IX, the process for reporting sexual misconduct at most U.S. universities. Premieres October 29.
💬Jason Wittering is just Miles Morales.
By rejecting the established canon, #CrystalLake has fundamentally altered #JasonVoorhees from a fortuitous tragedy into an engineered entity. /1
“Crystal Lake” has become Peacock’s fourth-most-watched scripted original series of all time, racking up 1.3 billion minutes viewed in 11 days.

Corporate longevity is a difficult needle to thread, especially wearing a sack with only one eye hole.
Diluting continuity is never gonna be an acceptable trade-off for universe-building. /6 #CrystalLake
Because the new audience that comes in is just not worth it. It’s not a good audience.
You can’t expect The New Blood to have integrity when you’ve already eliminated narrative integrity with the promise of A New Beginning.
It all just Goes to Hell. /end #CrystalLake

If you dig #DIG & you're Canadian know it'll be broadcast on @ShowcaseTV well...weekly. Which is weak.
It's airing with weekly back-to-back episodes at 9 & 9:30 p.m. starting on the 23rd.
It's a binge release for Americans on Peacock.
In Canada they did Dig dirty. #SetTheVCR
I got the 2 scoops on #IceCreamMan:
November 13 on @PrimeVideoCA
November 20 on @Shudder in the US.
As it's a horror movie you'd think this would be about Vanilla Ice's tragic career but that'd be too cold, too cold. Word to your mother. #SetTheVCR
Get ready to scream for ICE CREAM MAN. A summer delight like no other from director Eli Roth.
Watch the teaser now. In UK cinemas August 7th.
