Delta sticking with Viasat for now is super meh. More than half a second latency on A321 meanwhile latency is decent on 717.

“This year” is 8 weeks. So I guess they won’t be taking their time.
Team is working on this but it's not rolling out just yet, sorry for any confusion. Plan is to bring together best of both Chat / Work capabilities together at some point this year, but we're going to proceed carefully here and take our time. We'll have more to share soon.

Well, it’s the end of an era! @MikeSievert, @JohnLegere’s Robin 🤣, is leaving to find another CEO role where he can play second fiddle and backfill for someone else. Oh, and I took the liberty of updating Elon’s T-shirt to reflect the times. 🤣

Now I want one.
We’re glowing with excitement over the new MacBook Pro. You’ve gotta touch it to believe it.

“their service just can’t compete with a terrestrial network” when someone who never built anything tries to call out someone who is building, i get so incredibly bearish it pattern matches so hard onto the “iphone is an overly expensive gimmick” executives
Verizon's CEO said today that SpaceX will need at least 4-6 years and $300B-$500B to fully build out its @Starlink Mobile U.S. carrier network: "Their service just can't compete with a terrestrial network. In suburban and urban areas, where 98% of our revenues are, we're somewhere between 100x–1,000x more efficient than they are. We know exactly what they're going to do. We know who they're talking to on towers. There's no magic wand. There's no secret sauce. There's no shortcut. They're going to look at 65,000–80,000 macro sites. They're going to need backhaul, RAN, and a tremendous amount of spectrum. It's going to take a minimum of four to six years to fully build that out. It's going to cost hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars, I assume somewhere between $300 billion and $500 billion. Then they need to build retail, customer service, back office systems, et cetera. All of that gets them basically the same network and same capabilities and same cost structure as what we have today. Then sometime over the next four to six years, they have the possibility of becoming the sixth, not the fourth, the sixth competitor in the market. You can be sure over these next three to five years or six years, we are not going to be standing still. Four to five years from now, we will be two to three generations better than where we are today. We will have high-speed broadband gig-plus coverage across the country with our millimeter wave. We are ahead of most people and already experimenting with what 6G applications will look like." (via Verizon's Q3 earnings call earlier this morning)

Delta's onboard WiFi is unacceptably bad. Starlink sure would be nice.

AT&T doesn’t operate fiber outside the US and Starlink doesn’t release US-only subscriber counts.
SpaceX’s $SPCX Starlink just surpassed AT&T $T Fiber in subscribers after tripling its customer base in just seven quarters. What’s even more impressive is that Starlink is adding roughly 1.6 million subscribers per quarter versus about 400,000 for AT&T Fiber — showing how much faster satellite networks can scale compared to laying fiber street by street. Starlink’s connectivity CAGR sits at over 90% while AT&T Fiber manages around 17%. In a world racing toward AI / SI and orbital infrastructure, that gap isn’t just a statistic. It’s a structural advantage. Image data courtesy of Fiscal.ai

The iPhone Duo has failed my durability test. The inner display started to fail after rubbing it in diamonds, ketchup, and a bathtub of dog urine. I cannot in good conscience recommend this product

Charter and Comcast are no SpaceX.
Starlink Mobile as a 4th national carrier? “Entering the game is very difficult; other companies, large and small, have all come to the same conclusion: It’s just easier to sign an MVNO agreement,” I told @Michael_Kan of @PCMag. Charter and Comcast have the scale, but they reached the same conclusion. pcmag.com/news/starlink-migh…

We definitely need to explain this in detail. Veterans of the cellular industry look at the chess board of existing pieces and don’t see a solution. They don’t understand that SpaceX is developing entirely new pieces that fundamentally alter the strategic landscape.

Quality has continually decreased as speed has increased. I now have the bots run everything through Claude.
We've made some improvements to Grok Bot’s quality, polish, and speed. Cards in chat have a new design with a cleaner layout.

The old me, before my latest deal, would’ve posted something like this without thinking twice. But the new, mature, politically correct me? Never. 🤣

How about never.
Based on new information, it seems T-Mobile's new T-Mix plans were possibly delayed again (or were never set to launch this week at all), and may now launch as soon as next week or as late as November 5th. We should know more next week.

I started getting refunds within 20 minutes of setting up the new unified subscription.
If you have an existing Cursor, Grok, and or 𝕏 subscription, here's how to unify/combine all your accounts into the new 𝕏 Subscription: When you switch from your current plan, eligible monthly and annual plans are cancelled, and you get a prorated refund for unused time. The refund goes back to your original payment method separately from your checkout total, so your new plan is charged at full price. If you pay for Cursor through the Apple App Store, switching doesn't cancel that subscription, and 𝕏 can't refund it. Cancel it in your iPhone or iPad Settings so Apple stops billing you, and request any refund from Apple. Switching is optional. If you don’t switch, your current plan continues unless you change or cancel it. Existing Cursor, Grok, or X subscribers can switch to The X Subscription and unify eligible accounts at cursor.com/unify (Cursor), accounts.x.ai/unify (Grok), or on x.com (X) via the in-product banner. If you already pay for Cursor, Grok, or X, switch on the web at one of these links. For now, the mobile apps send you to the web to switch. If you don't pay for any of them yet, you can set up a new account and subscribe to The X Subscription in the Grok, X, Grok Bot, or Cursor mobile apps, if desired. These purchases are billed through the App Store or Google Play Store. Switching unifies eligible Cursor and Grok accounts into one account with one workspace, one plan, and one bill. Adding a personal X account gives you X benefits under The X Subscription. A completed unification is permanent. It can’t be undone, and Support can’t undo it for you. After you unify, you manage your plan, billing, and settings at grok.com/dashboard. When you switch, your old Cursor, Grok, and X Premium subscriptions are cancelled automatically, so you don’t need to cancel them yourself. Any refund for unused time is sent separately. If your X, Grok, and Cursor accounts use different email addresses, they don’t need to match. 𝕏 will connect the X account you sign in to, not an account that shares your email. When you switch, sign in to the exact Cursor, Grok, and X accounts you want to combine, and check each one before you confirm. Keep work and personal accounts separate unless you mean to combine them. If the wrong account appears, stop before checkout and contact Support. Learn more: docs.x.ai/x-subscription/uni…

They’re really going to do it.
Here's the public interest statement on the Starlink/Grain 800 MHz deal: "Deployment will rely on radios feeding sectorized antennas on towers, rooftops, ther structures, configured to provide reliable signal coverage and meaningful broadband service." sxcontent9668.azureedge.us/c…
