It is nearly the end of March 2022, we've had about 88 days. During this time I have IR'd in 33 incidents where Teamviewer was used to get on the victim's system and (in 31 incidents) access their bank accounts. That's one every 2.7 days.

I’m glad CISA is providing a companion document w/ the DOJ indictment of the Russian govt operators who targeted ICS. Lots of great info but please don’t follow their mitigation advice for ICS. It’s not practical & in some cases dangerous. A quick thread: us-cert.cisa.gov/ncas/alerts…

If you are in the US/UK/ANZ at a small co-op/muni & need ICS cybersecurity support (Dragos Platform technology, managed service, and incident response) please feel free to message me directly. Dragos is going to make our capabilities free for the smaller members of our community

Maybe - hear me out - we could run immigration as if New Zealand wasn't a membership club for the wealthy. As a bonus, we wouldn't have to engage in these periodic, degrading bouts for advocacy for people who obviously deserve to stay but have to beg for it.

How does the world REALLY end? Through PUBLICLY disclosed, widely available, and easily accessible vulns - from log4j to MS17-10 to MS-08-067. We're lucky it hasn't yet.

Your important secret stuff shouldn’t be on an internet connected machine. Your medium sensitive stuff, emails and personal banking and whatever, shouldn’t be on a box that does weird shit. Your weird shit box, or “general internet shit”, should be free from sensitive data.

Warning: two political posts to follow. We are gravely concerned about the future of our country (and the world) and therefore will be voting for and supporting Joe Biden and Democrats down the ticket.

The surest sign that open office concepts are complete shit is the popularity of noise-cancelling over-ear headsets outside of air/rail travel.

Sad. But I think at this time i would like to say a big thank you to all in the #OSINT community for all that you do... Personally learnt so much from @IntelTechniques - a loss but the knowledge isn't forgotten.
Doing #OSINT I've seen some good resources come and go consistently. Today we lost a great one. I'm grateful of the connections I forged in the @IntelTechniques forum over the years.

Thread time! Why can't they just quickly patch #meltdown or #spectre and push out another cpu? Why could it possibly take years? Why don't they use AGILE or x/y/z? Lots of reasons: (note: my goal is not to criticize chip manufacturers - it's to defend the constraints they have)

Analytical skills & motivation are required to make an effective critical thinker. This is a key factor in doing better open source intelligence research. arstechnica.com/science/2017… #OSINT

I’ll say it again: Please don’t panic, or spread panic about #Meltdown #spectre. Yes, they’re very bad. We won’t even understand all implications for some time. I can tell you - there will be more “world ending” exploits in our careers. Don’t drive the world to alert fatigue.
