Interesting that you should mention that. Since I took over as Administrator, we put three Moon rocks on display in the lobby of NASA HQ. They are there now, and anyone can walk in and see them. We also brought Moon rocks to multiple public events, including America’s 250th birthday celebration on the National Mall and NASA fan engagement zones in Cleveland, New York, Pittsburgh, and Tuscaloosa. President Trump is the third president to have a Moon rock in the Oval Office. Presidents Clinton and Biden did as well, so you have your facts wrong. You should maybe try to put the obvious political bias aside for a second. If you love NASA, having a president who supports the space program and where we are going, the Moon, is a good thing. And, as inconvenient as it may be for you, the facts are that POTUS established the Artemis program, the Artemis Accords, and the Space Force, and has now provided the National Space Policy calling for a Moon Base.

It was a great day at the White House with President Trump and the talented crew of Artemis III 🇺🇸 The Artemis III crew is led by Commander Randy Bresnik, Pilot Luca Parmitano, and Mission Specialists Andre Douglas and Frank Rubio with Bob Hines backing them up. It is clear @POTUS is the force behind a new era of American leadership in space. His policies include the Artemis program, the Artemis Accords, now signed by 78 nations, and the United States Space Force. Of course, the United States Space Academy is coming soon. With the resources provided to @NASA in the WFTCA, we were able to approach our return to the Moon the right way. We added the Artemis III mission and will now be able to establish humankind’s first outpost on another world, the Moon Base, with its first robotic mission just weeks away. We are rebuilding the workforce and core capabilities at NASA Centers, taking control of our destiny--we are building again. With SR-1 Freedom, we will finally get America underway on nuclear power in space, what should be the dawn of a Nuclear NASA. I am grateful every day to serve as NASA Administrator and to see the talent across our workforce, industry, and international partners changing the world. Together, we are leading the way on the greatest adventure in human history.
Welcome to the Oval Office, Artemis III Crew! 🇺🇸🚀

Big move, bigger mission! The Artemis III Space Launch System core stage moved to the transfer aisle at NASA Kennedy. Next up – teams will lift and integrate the massive 212-foot-rocket with the solid rocket boosters as we prepare for the next giant leap in lunar exploration.

American leadership in space demands results. At @NASA, we measure success by the outcomes we deliver, not how fast we spend taxpayer dollars. We intend to make every dollar count.

Apollo should never represent the upper limit of what @NASA can achieve. It should be a standard we continuously strive to exceed. We’re bringing that intensity, discipline, and engineering ownership back to this agency. Great nations do not remain great by being caretakers of history, but by continuously making history.

It was great to spend time with the team at the Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex, one of three facilities around the world that keep us connected to spacecraft exploring our solar system. After the devastating wildfires earlier this year, I’m especially thankful for the dedication of this team and the Spanish emergency responders who helped protect the facility. This is an important partnership, and the work happening here is essential to what comes next in space exploration.

If we are going to live and work on the Moon, build the Moon Base, and eventually journey to Mars, we have to master the technologies that make sustained operations possible. There is impressive work happening at the University of North Dakota on habitats, spacesuits, human performance, mobility, and autonomous systems that directly connects to those challenges. Today, @SenJohnHoeven, General Guetlein, and I saw that work firsthand, touring UND’s lunar and Mars analog habitat and spacesuit lab while meeting with the students and researchers working through the real challenges of how humans will live, move, and operate on other worlds. We also joined the UAS Summit to talk about how advances in autonomy and aviation are opening up new challenges and possibilities across both air and space. North Dakota is helping build the capabilities America will need for the missions ahead. Thank you to Senator Hoeven, General Guetlein, and everyone at @UofNorthDakota for the warm welcome and outstanding work.
