NC has the 2nd-fastest growing life sciences hub in employment, the largest manufacturing workforce in the Southeast U.S., and the state's life sciences sector generated $12 billion in pharmaceutical exports in 2024, a 134% increase since 2019.
#FBF: Last week, Governor Josh Stein announced that SteelFab, a NC-based steel fabrication company, is expanding operations in Fayetteville, creating 38 new jobs with an investment of more than $19 million in Cumberland County.

Montauk's $200 million capital investment shows how innovative energy production supports rural communities. In the first phase of development, the company executed long-term agreements with 80+ local farms to provide the company with feedstock to convert waste into energy.

The U.S. Navy’s new Fleet Readiness Center East in Kinston is a major investment in our military and eastern North Carolina.
The facility will support the maintenance and repair of military aircraft while creating more than 400 good-paying, highly-skilled jobs and generating an estimated $140 million a year for the regional economy. North Carolina aims to be the most military friendly state in the nation, and that includes supporting our service members, our veterans, their families, and our military installations. This facility is helping us double down on that commitment while creating good jobs for North Carolinians.
