Coming in 2027: The Nebraska Humane Society Pet Wellness Center
We cannot overstate how excited we are to share this news! We are transforming the Spay & Neuter Center into a low-cost Pet Wellness Center (PWC).
Today's featured dog for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month is none other than Bulma!
With Bulma, there is no such thing as a stranger—everyone is her friend! Bulma is an affectionate girl that loves getting all the kisses and cuddles you can offer.
According to her foster dad, Bulma's favorite activities are going for walks, car rides, treat-hunting in snuffle mats, chasing rabbits in the yard... and snuggling, of course! She doesn't beg for food, she's potty trained, and has been working on her leash manners.
Papa is our dog of the day for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month! This big wiggly guy came to NHS in rough shape, but it hasn't affected his spirit. He loves meeting new people and exploring all the sights and smells that the world has to offer. To top it all off, he's super handsome!
Antonia is excited to help us announce that the Nebraska Humane Society has been selected for an Employee Choice Grant from the Charles Schwab Foundation! #Schwab4Good
Grants like these are crucial in helping us continue our mission. It means more second chances for animals in need, and more pets like Antonia going to loving homes.
Thank you to Charles Schwab employees for championing our work! #Schwab4Good
Anderson is today's featured dog for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month! This boy is as sweet and loving as he looks. If you want to adopt this silly guy, your last name has to be Anderson too. Just kidding!
Ruby Tuesday is today's featured dog for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month! This cutie is an excellent car rider and takes treats nicely! She's heartworm positive, so she has to keep some distance from other pups so she doesn't get too excited.
Petra is today's featured dog for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month! She had a great outing to Omaha Public Library today for their Adopt a Plushie event. She LOVES zoomies and meeting new friends!
Ann is a perfect example of the good that still exists in this world, and we're so thankful for everything she has done over the years 💜
Reminder that NHS adoptions will close at 4 p.m. Friday as we celebrate our annual Howl-oween Bash! 🎃
It's National Make A Dog’s Day, a day created by Subaru to encourage dog lovers to do something special for their dog, or to consider adopting or fostering a dog in need!
We have so many incredible dogs here at NHS. Help make today their best day by giving them a loving home! ❤️

We don't know if there's an award for "most boopable snoot," but Ebie is definitely a top contender. She's also today's dog of the day for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month!
