Here are some resources to help artists deal with the growing problem of plagiarized art on NFT marketplaces. A few of these are links that have been shared with us, but we have not had the chance test ourselves. Please add you experiences/suggestions to help others:

NFTs do not:
*Prove provenance of art
*Protect artists
*Protect consumers
*Guarantee royalties on secondary sales
We've been saying this for years, but in case you missed the memo: theverge.com/2023/8/17/23836…

@broderick quick note on this: smart contract royalties are not standardized, so collectors can avoid paying this cut by simply switching marketplaces when selling. If the contract only works within a walled marketplace, then it could done easier and better without using crypto.
Neopets recently announced they are shutting down their Neopets Metaverse game. Add it to the list of NFT-rugpulls that launched with stolen art. Good riddance! nitter.cf/NFTtheft/status/144542…
It's no surprise that the official @Neopets NFTs are chock-full of uncredited artwork plucked from a Neopets fansite (see the images below).
By going to impress.openneo.net, you too can make your own "AI created unique neopet.", but don't be like Neopets and try to sell it.

Today @andr3w supported a charity project rug by @hopeexist1 someone supposedly battling cancer causing the project to mint out.
“I’ll put my rep on the line to say this is for real amidst all the scams in our space”
It turns out she stole the art and deactivated her account.

A 🧵 for all you artists campaigning against unethical AI—keep it up. We are making progress. AI companies can no longer evade questions about the provenance of their data. Special shout out to @kortizart @SarahCAndersen & @Kelly_McKernan.

Last year, I started an anonymous twitter account called @NFTtheft to document the harm that NFTs are causing to artists and fans. I wrote a thread about why I started that account, and why I had to stop. mastodon.social/@docpop/1093…

“I believe that @NFTtheft had a huge impact on the conversation around NFTs. We proved they weren't working as intended.”
You sure did. Thanks so much for all you did in raising awareness & piercing the hype around NFT’s. Y’all were trailblazers. mastodon.social/@docpop/1093…

Today, for the first time, I encountered plagiarism and fraud in the NFT.😪
All arts from our @22collab part 3 were stolen and put up for sale🤦🏻♀️
Don't close your eyes to this!
Please send a complaint about the collection🙏
And always be vigilant! #nftart

.@nftworldsnft is a "metaverse platform" that allows users to upload 3D voxel art (created in Minecraft) and sell it as an "NFTworld". Unsurprisingly, people are stealing creator content from Minecraft fan platforms like @PlanetMinecraft and selling it on NFTworlds for big $$$.
Reviving this old thread because @vice ran an article about NFTworlds today without mentioning that much of their content is stolen from Minecraft fan sites. vice.com/en/article/wxd4w5/w…
This recent announcement by @minecraft should come as no surprise to anyone who's been following this thread. nitter.cf/Minecraft/status/15498…
Here's an early look at our upcoming guidelines regarding Minecraft and NFTs.
If you're a player or creator actively involved in the buying, selling, or trading of NFTs that make use of Minecraft, please read the information in the article below.

All of the NFTs on @VikingofficiaI's page were plagiarized from @siberi2's portfolio on Behance.
These images, ironically, were created for a different "NFT-based gambling" project. But minting artwork as an NFT does not prevent it from being copied and resold, so here we are.

This article is an excellent, clear explanation of why NFTs don’t actually work for basically anything (except separating people from money, I guess).

Confirming that @oreoDAOstudio's "Ventana" collection consists of art stolen from @iso_hedron, @code_rgb, and @KennyVaden.
This is a massive NFT scam with 999 pieces sold for about $460,000 USD total.
If anyone is buying this collection (and it looks like they are), it is a fake. they are taking other gen artists work and putting a border around it/cropping it.
Do not purchase "Ventana" by Oscar Marquina

Want more details? @iso_hedron has a great thread showing the work from the original artists and the copied NFT art from @oreoDAOstudio's "Ventana" collection. nitter.cf/iso_hedron/status/1549…
Here is the scammer behind Ventana, a huge fake collection / copy mint that has 250+ eth in volume so far. There are going to be a lot of upset people looking for you, very soon, Oscar Marquina, @marquina_artist. Collectors need to beware of this obvious thief.
.@ValhallaDegens found a photo of an oil painting online and are now using it for their NFT collection. There's no end to this constant art theft, is there?
The original painting, "Burning Sadness", is by Ana Gratess and can be found here artmajeur.com/en/anagratess/…
