ALT Dr. Bir Bohora’s recent Astronomy 1010 class provided an engaging introduction to space exploration through the use of a telescope. ALT While many chose the path of least resistance, Ian Carranza is built differently. A Marine veteran and recent Nashville State graduate in physics, Carranza is headed to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the fall. ALT At the invitation of Turner Construction, students in Professor Rob Donaldson’s CIVT 1250 Materials and Methods of Construction class toured the Tennessee Titans’ new stadium. The visit offered an inside look at the construction process behind one of the area's most significant ongoing projects and gave students a firsthand view of how classroom concepts translate to real‑world practice. ALT Nashville State and Caterpillar Financial Services (Cat Financial) apprenticeship program welcomed its fourth IT cohort, while Caterpillar’s information technology division, Caterpillar IT launches its first with Nashville State. ALT Love seeing alums and current students out doing what they enjoy. A few have been working at the Greater Nashville Tech Council STEAM Camp run by MAC. The campers are learning coding for 7 weeks. The hope is to broaden horizons, interests, and create career paths.
