Neither wind nor rain can stop brave @NUGeog students from getting their samples! Today’s trip took us to Doddington Norh Moor and level 5 sampled soils and water for their project on carbon budgets.

ALT Schedule for the 'Future Lives and Austerity: International Online Symposium' on 16th October 2024, from 09:00-17:30 (BST) / 10:00-18:30 (CET). The event is split into six sessions across three virtual hubs. Session 1 (09:00-10:10 BST) includes an AALC opening talk (hybrid) in Central Online Hub 1, a workshop on 'Intention Setting' with Will Medd (hybrid) in Central Hub 2, and sign-up access for up to 15 participants in Hub 3. Session 2 (10:30-11:40 BST) features a roundtable on 'The Future of Research Partnerships' (streamed) and a panel on 'Feminist Archiving' (online). Session 3 (12:00-13:10 BST) invites attendees to explore the online exhibition. Session 4 (14:00-15:10 BST) and Session 5 (15:30-16:40 BST) include lightning talks on 'Young People, Future Lives, & Austerity' (online), and a panel on 'Play, Theatre, & Qualitative Research.' Today we've taken level 4 @NUGeog BSc and Physical geography students for a stroll in beautiful Cheviots. We discussed origins of the landscape and how humans interact with it. The weather was great and our new cohort was stellar! ⛰️☀️🌲🌳🐑🎓
