"i can excuse antisemitism, but I draw the line at endorsing a republican" is the gist of every outraged dem
Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, who served as Biden's secretary of energy, on her support for Abdul El-Sayed for Senate:
"I endorsed Haley Stevens in the primary. She was a friend and we worked closely together. I understand and share her concerns about hate, both anti-semitism and Islamophobia. But in endorsing Rogers, I no longer recognize her. ... The stakes for the country are so very high, and today’s decision by Stevens was nothing short of reckless — for Michigan, for the country, and for her political future. I believe folks in Michigan will put guardrails on this President by voting for Abdul."
Very important point.
A lot of people are going to be watching the results of the Michigan race very closely, particularly how Jewish residents vote. If Michigan Jews vote for El-Sayed, as this group encourages them to, then there is zero reason for any Democrat to support Israel ever again.
The Democratic base hates Israel and a supermajority believe they have committed "genocide" and most young people hate the government and Israeli people. If a majority of Jews are willing to vote for someone that downplayed a synagogue terrorist attack, said that support for Israel is about "money" and who has expressed sympathy for supporters of antisemitic terrorist groups, then the political calculus becomes very simple: just stop supporting Israel.
The lesson Dems will "learn" is that one can go full anti-Zionist, appease their base, and also still garner a majority of Jewish institutional support because Jewish voters don't prioritize Israel much.
Further, Republicans will "learn" a separate lesson. If Jews support El-Sayed despite everything he has done, they will realize that there is nothing that will win over substantial numbers of Jews to the GOP because they prioritize a spectrum of progressive agenda items more than Israel or combatting antisemitism. Therefore, it makes political sense to soften support for Israel (JD Vance) or even pander to Groypers (Tucker Carlson, James Fishback). Young Republicans are very skeptical of the Israel-US relationship, so there's something to be gained electorally by catering to this demographic, even if it is immoral and gross.
The end result is that many Jews will end up politically sidelined and irrelevant in the US, especially as millennials play a bigger part of the electorate in each successive cycle and Boomers die out.
In life, you are treated the way you allow yourself to be treated, and if you reward disrespect you will be disrespected.

Sorry, this whole thing is making the Dem Party leaders look like pathetic and selective bullies. Did they do this to Rashida Tlaib when she said she would not endorse Kamala Harris 3 days before the election?

The middle east has many ethnic and religious groups that existed long before Islam, but Muslims rule 99.7% of the land.
The cause that dominates every space from the UN to the euro vision song contest is the perceived injustice of them not ruling 100%.
I just remembered Graham Platner, the man with the nazi tattoo. The tent was big enough for him too.

like imagine if Abdul could have made a statement as strongly opposed to the pro-terrorist rhetoric of Hasan/the IRGC/Temple Israel attack as he did against fucking Haley Stevens LMAO, it's unbelievable how much stupid behavior has been shown on all sides of this race
I definitely side with the Red Barron employee but he lost control in that video. His co-workers clearly thought he needed their help to calm down. This man needs a vacation and fewer hours but his reaction was painful to watch.

This is the kind of stuff that makes parents turn off from the teachers union. $9M for barely any instructional time and yet taxpayers are on the hook to pay this six years after. UFT is a bloated jobs program that disguises itself as a public goods necessity.
New: NYC will pay the teachers’ union $8.7 million for “building positive nurturing environments” during the COVID pandemic in 2020-2022 under a RETROACTIVE contract approved last night by the Panel for Educational Policy. The DOE refused to specify what labor the UFT provided, or explain why the city is funding it SIX YEARS LATER.
Agenda item #3:
Agreed. If we communicate that it’s ok to spend your campaign obsessing over Israel and downplaying antisemitic attacks at home, the problem will only get worse and we have ourselves to blame. It is not ok and we must make that known.

Re: "that ad is about Israel, not Jews":
If there was an ad hammering on the idea that the reason you can't pay for your groceries is that we're spending too much on aid to Africa, I'm guessing few people left of center would have trouble seeing that as racist

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%.
FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours.
Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis.
Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.

You can't appease a movement whose objection is you.
J Street ran its largest-ever super PAC campaign against AIPAC but still gets counted as AIPAC. TrackAIPAC lists Sen. Ossoff, who has taken $0 from AIPAC, because J Street funds him.
J Street refuses to learn that it's the joke.
The movement they courted doesn't object to AIPAC's tactics. It objects to American Jews who support Israel — any Israel, any borders. #gapol
There is no level of cringe that this man cannot surpass.
