I’ve been in France for 10 days to cover the protests.
After having lived in France for 3 years in the 90s, I don’t recognize this country anymore.
France has become a police state.
In none of my three trips to Iran in the past 18 months did I see anything like this.

🇫🇷⚖️ DISPROPORTIONNÉ — En prison depuis presque un an : Amira Zaiter, mère de famille, aide-soignante et militante pro-palestinienne niçoise. Son tort : des publications sur les réseaux sociaux.
Fin 2024, elle passe 46 jours derrière les barreaux pour des écrits, en partie pour avoir qualifié de « génocidaire » un soldat franco-israélien. Condamnée en appel à 6 mois ferme.
Le 13 octobre 2025, elle republie pour « partager avec vous » [ses 3k abonnés] les messages qui l’ont menée en prison, car elle « souhaite simplement que la vérité soit dite. Et lue. » Retour en cellule un mois plus tard, où elle dort depuis. Le 23 janvier, elle écope de 15 mois ferme, avec maintien en détention, 10 ans d’inéligibilité et inscription au fichier des auteurs terroristes.
Elle a tout perdu : travail, formation d’infirmière, droit d’approcher sa fille en situation de handicap de 13 ans. Pour avoir republié ses posts, pensant informer.
📍 Sans défendre ses écrits : peine disproportionnée et deux poids, deux mesures, quand des pro-israéliens aux propos illégaux restent impunis.

👉🏿 I was born under a dictatorship and have spent a great deal of my adult life denouncing authoritarian regimes. I am deeply shocked to read the threatening statement issued by the Met Police UK. Threatening to arrest people for providing "logistical support" to peaceful demonstrators is the kind of threatening statement we are used to getting from the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship in Nicaragua. This is not what I expect from PM Andy Burnham’s Government. The UK is supposed to be a democracy, where freedom of speech is a pillar of society. Churchill’s words remind us that a true civilisation relies entirely on these liberties to maintain democratic accountability. Criminalising and proscribing Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation is a shameful authoritarian overreach.

While much of the world watches the Israeli election results, counts seats, follows political alliances, and wonders what comes next, life in Gaza tells a very different story.
This little girl arrived at Al-Rahma Clinic with painful burns on parts of her tiny body.
She knows nothing of elections, political alliances, or politicians’ speeches.
All she knows is that she is in pain.
The world has moved from war to ceasefire, from ceasefire to elections, and from one headline to the next. But Gaza’s suffering has not followed the news cycle.
The bombs may be falling less frequently, and politicians may now be busy counting votes. But children are still living among the ruins, bearing wounds, mourning loved ones, and enduring the consequences of a war that has taken almost everything from them.
And as the world slowly grows accustomed to their suffering, there is something I fear almost as much as the suffering itself: that one day, we will look at a photograph like this and feel nothing.
Look at this little girl. This is what a “ceasefire” looks like for her.
The world may have moved on from Gaza. But Gaza’s children have not been given the chance to move on from what the world allowed to happen to them.

Les Verts britanniques ont adopté, par 1022 voix contre 813, une motion qui fait du parti une formation officiellement antisioniste et qui affirme que le sionisme doit être “considéré comme toute autre forme de racisme”. Leur chef, Zack Polanski, estime notamment que le “déplacement” et le “génocide du peuple palestinien” constituent “clairement du racisme”.
Le texte affirme que “l’antisionisme ne doit pas être assimilé à l’antisémitisme” et appelle à la création d’un seul État palestinien démocratique sur l’ensemble de la Palestine historique, avec des droits égaux pour tous.
Le texte a été vivement condamné par des associations juives britanniques, le Parti travailliste et Israël, qui le jugent “clairement antisémite”. Israël a également interdit d’entrée le chef des Verts, Zack Polanski.

בגלל העניין והחשיבות הציבורית אני ורחלי החלטנו ביחד עם הגרדיאן שהסרט נז״א יהיה נגיש באינטרנט בחינם, ללא הגבלת זמן, כדי שכל אדם יוכל לצפות בו ובעדויות החיילים. זה יקרה בעוד כמה שבועות, בנובמבר, במועד הכי מוקדם שהצלחנו לקבוע. עד אז פנינו לבתי קולנוע בישראל והצענו להם את הסרט ללא עלות, בתקווה שיוקרן בארץ כבר עכשיו, במקביל להפצתו בבתי קולנוע בעולם. הצגתו תהיה החלטה אמיצה אל מול אלימות גדולה שמכוונת להסתרתו. אני יודע שיש ביקוש אדיר לצפות בסרט ואני מקווה שבאופן הזה כולם בקרוב יוכלו לראות אותו: בין אם בבתי הקולנוע ובין אם באינטרנט בעוד כמה שבועות.
הרבה דברים לא נכונים נאמרו עלינו ועל הסרט בשבוע החולף. הסרט מבוסס על תחקיר עיתונאי מקיף של שלוש שנים והפרטים בו מאומתים ומוצלבים. הוא ידבר בעד עצמו והאמת סופה להתבהר.
עשינו את הסרט כדי לעורר דיון ציבורי לגבי המעשים של הממשלה בעזה, ההרג של יותר מ73,000 בני אדם, רובם אזרחים, הנרמול של מלחמת השמדה, של התפיסה ש״אין בלתי מעורבים״. עשרים וארבעה חיילים וחיילות עשו צעד ודיברו מול מצלמה על מה שחברה שלמה לא רוצה לדבר עליו.
ההכרה בזוועות בעזה לא מפחיתה לרגע מהטבח הנפשע של השבעה באוקטובר, שחמאס אחראי עליו, שחיילים מדברים עליו בסרט, ושאין לו שום הצדקה. להפך. הרי ההתעלמות ממה שקורה בעזה היא מהגורמים שסללו את הדרך לשבת הנוראה ההיא. וההתעלמות הזו נמשכת.
עיתונות היא לא בגידה. ביקורת היא לא בגידה. זו חובה של כל אזרח שממשלתו מבצעת פשעים לדעת ושל כל חייל שהיה עד להם לספר. מסתובבים כאן אלפי חיילים כאלה, שיצפו בסרט ויזהו את מה שמתואר בו באופן אישי: את ההרג של אנשים לא חמושים שחוצים קו מדומיין, את אישורי הנז״א במאות, את התקיפות המערכתיות בבתי משפחות, את השריפה וההשמדה הפיזית של עזה, רצח וירי על אנשים רעבים במרכזי מזון ופשעים נוספים שאין להם הצדקה. גם אם זה מפחיד, זו חובתכם למצוא את הדרך להעיד על מה שראיתם. יגידו לכם שכדאי להסתיר את האמת למען הסברה בחו״ל, אבל זה קשקוש. שם יודעים כבר הכל. פשעים לא מסבירים אלא עוצרים. הסתרת האמת קודם כל מרעילה את החברה שלנו ומעל הכל מאפשרת לפגיעה בבני אדם בעזה להימשך.
ובנימה אישית: אני כותב על מדיניות האש של הצבא בעזה בעברית ב״שיחה מקומית״ כבר שלוש שנים. התחקירים זכו להתעלמות בישראל. עכשיו בפעם הראשונה משהו נסדק במסך ההתעלמות - וזה דבר חיובי. זה דבר בריא. כן, זה מגיע עם מחיר אישי גדול. היה שבוע קשה. אבל בתוכו גם יש המון תמיכה, והרבה נדיבות. מה שבטוח: האיומים לא יעזרו. זה לא מרתיע אותנו. אני ורחלי נחזור לארץ ונמשיך להיאבק על עתיד המקום הזה ביחד עם שותפים רבים.
