“If you've built and exited a company before, or you've been a significant operator, you can fundraise on an idea and a pitch deck.
If you're a first-time founder without deep industry or operating experience, especially in the market you're building for, fundraising becomes significantly harder. You need to build proof points first.”

“Angel investors are a crucial part of the venture ecosystem. We've seen the impact they've had in more developed markets, and it's a layer that's still significantly underdeveloped across Africa.
At the same time, we have to recognize that there isn't a lot of discretionary capital available for angel investing. There's also an education gap and a structural gap that need to be addressed.”
