I wrote a long read for the Guardian about the evolution of the British trap house, focusing on the story of a friend of mine who was 'cuckooed' twice in London. The first time was grim, but the second cuckooing sparked a fascinating friendship.

Good move. You can’t get away with being a top pundit and insulting Villa fans twice in the same breath: ‘your manager should leave and shut the fuck up’
Tommy Robinson will get a deserved slap down for trying to act like a mob boss, threatening journalists who wrote a story about him. And no, the story didn't ID his kids as he claims.
'Jurors rejected claims from the activist that the Daily Mail had put his family in danger by publishing the story, with the defendant weeping in the witness box on Thursday as he spoke about the relationship he had with his children'

Belatedly got to read this. Fantastic piece on the French riots: who the rioters were, their sickening impact on communities, the police balls-up, the country's political and financial mess, and the black hole France could jump into if all this leads to a Le Pen presidency.
I've been in France since 2002 and have never seen the streets so violent nor the politics so extreme. From the sacking of the supermarket on my street to the prospect of Présidente Le Pen, here's me @FT including thoughts from 2 French Nobel laureates as.ft.com/r/addcad57-0f9d-4e…

Interesting how some data (used in this piece) indicates a big rise in Britain's cocaine use, while government's own drug use stats say there's been a fall in last 6 years to levels of 25 years ago 🤷♂️

This Sun football report is top level tabloid writing. A pity this craft is wasted on celebrity trash/propaganda in most of the paper.
I think brilliant tabloid writing is a key weapon in the battle to keep journalism alive.
