Why is Janhvi Kapoor questioning objectification in Peddi without addressing similar portrayals in Devara and Bollywood?
In Devara, her character Thangam had limited role, while Chuttamalle emphasised on exposing. Bollywood’s Bheegi Saree in Param Sundari also relied heavily on exposing presentation. And off screen too.
Of course, consenting to glamorous scenes is different from objecting to unwanted portrayals. Janhvi has every right to raise those concerns.
But if the larger issue is the objectification of actresses, the scrutiny shouldn’t stop at Peddi or Tollywood. The same questions must be asked of Bollywood and her other films. Consistency matters

Yes the director OBJECTIFIED her character, QUESTIONS about the characterisation and filmmaking choices are VALID, definitely QUESTIONABLE. BUT shouldn’t we also discuss the role she CONSCIOUSLY chose to play and the way it was presented on screen? That too with her background with previous movies in Bollywood. HYPOCRITE!
Her walking itself in her INTRODUCTION sequence clearly shown something else. BOUND script, CAMERA angles and SOUTH emphasization — all are bullshit of her discussion to ramp up her victim card.
