Very well said @BillClinton . We are all tired of hate. Enough is enough.
🇺🇸 Bill Clinton says he's had enough of the Muslim hate... "I'm tired of people denigrating Muslims for being Muslims. The Quran says, and I first heard this from my daughter, who read the Quran from start to finish when she was 15 years old, and she said, 'Read this.' Allah put the different people on the earth not that they might despise one another, but that they might come to know one another and learn from one another. There are bad actors in every faith because we're all flawed human beings. But the religious wars, the culture wars, I'm just tired." Writer: Michael

Is listening to audio books the same as reading a book ??? Well said, Bella. I have come across so many reading snobs who look down on audiobooks. What a nonsense. Very interesting take on a heated debate! What do you think ? #books #audiobooks #writing #reading
Bella Schuller on Philippa Willitts’s warm, principled essay for @global.comment on audiobooks, ebooks, and what makes reading “real.” “If you want to read, read. Please, please read.” Full essay 👇 globalcomment.com/stop-gatek… #Bookstagram #BookTwitter

Fully agree with Affleck here. And not only that… the critics moved like a herd of sheep, rushing to attack and mock Digger. Yet many who have actually seen it tell me it’s a great movie. I’ve always distrusted a hastily formed critics’ consensus about a film. More often than not, it says more about the critics themselves, and how they wish to be perceived, than about the actual quality of the film. I’ll certainly be watching Digger, and I think we should all do the same: watch it, make up our own minds, and judge for ourselves. #TomCruise #digger @TomCruise
Ben Affleck says the "high-school bullying" of Tom Cruise's "Digger" will only lead to Hollywood studios making more "sh*tty" movies. "Everybody wants to celebrate this bomb as if it’s the most exciting thing to happen. And you think like, it’s a pretty ambitious, interesting movie made by interesting people who have talent. Everybody wants to count the money, what it lost or whatever. To me, I just think, if you punish movies that take risks, guess what you're going to get? A bunch of sh*tty homogenized movies. You cannot do something interesting without taking a big swing. And that means you're going to sometimes look bad." (via Happy Sad Confused) wp.me/pc8uak-1lHXy0

Well said
As a father and grandfather, I want the same for every girl as I want for my own daughters and granddaughters: to grow up healthy, safe, and free to pursue their dreams. But the reality for millions of girls is very different. Every year, around 21 million adolescent girls become pregnant in low- and middle-income countries. One in four girls who have been in a relationship experiences physical or sexual violence from a partner. And many girls still miss out on vaccines that could protect them from cervical cancer later in life. These are not just statistics. Behind every number is a girl whose health, choices and future are at stake. This #DayOfTheGirl, let’s commit to give every girl the chance to live a healthy life and fulfil her potential. No exceptions.

Now that’s what I call a good start to a West Coast week full of client meetings and events! Always great to catch up with the exceptional Brandi Taylor, who continues to work on groundbreaking AI and tech product counselling work. And what a treat to meet finally our new litigation maestro in the Bay Area S. Waqar Hasib. Our litigation practice in the US continues to grow form strength to strength, and Waqar is a great addition to a stellar team that includes Bradford Newman and Peter Meier. A pleasure also to meet in person our business development director Jennifer Ainsworth. Looking forward to the week here in San Francisco and Seattle

Great to attend the Financial Times AI Forum last week with my colleague Babar Hayat. As a sponsor, Eversheds Sutherland was proud to support an event that brought together leaders from technology, financial services, consulting, investment and the wider business community to discuss where AI is heading next. I also had the pleasure of moderating discussions with attendees from organisations across a range of sectors, sharing practical perspectives on how AI is moving from experimentation to enterprise-wide adoption and value creation. One of the standout sessions was the conversation between Madhumita Murgia, AI Editor at the Financial Times, and Suzanne Ashman, Managing Partner of the UK's Sovereign AI, on AI's economic impact. Suzanne provided a compelling perspective on the UK's growing AI ambitions, from sovereign AI initiatives and frontier AI investment to the opportunity to build globally significant AI companies and capabilities from the UK. The discussion reinforced how much the market has matured: organisations are increasingly focused on tangible business outcomes, productivity gains and competitive advantage. At the same time, there was broad recognition that trust, governance and responsible AI must remain central as adoption accelerates. Many thanks to the Financial Times team for organising such an excellent forum and to the speakers and attendees for a highly engaging discussion. The future of AI will be shaped not only by continued technological advances, but by how effectively governments, businesses and institutions harness those advances to create sustainable economic and societal value. A fittingly brilliant tribute to the extraordinary Dolly Parton. There are thousands of articles out there, but this one captures her essence with eloquent precision. It explains beautifully why millions upon millions felt a lasting and happy connection to Dolly and her music. #DollyParton @NataliaAntonova Even in death, who could be more alive than Dolly? globalcomment.com/even-in-de… via @GlobalComment
