A clear majority of Australians support banning abortion after 24 weeks or earlier when exceptional circumstances such as serious health risks, fetal disability or sexual assault do not apply, a national poll has found.
The survey, conducted by McCrindle and commissioned by pro-life activist group CitizenGO, found that 58.6 percent supported a ban after 24 weeks or earlier, including respondents who selected earlier pregnancy limits.
Just over half, 50.4 percent, supported a ban after 20 weeks or earlier.
CitizenGO Australian campaigns director George Christensen said the findings gave lawmakers a clear basis for advancing pro-life reforms.
“The central finding is unmistakable: a clear majority of Australians support banning abortion after 24 weeks or earlier, outside the exceptional circumstances specified in the question,” Mr Christensen said.
“Parliamentarians should have the confidence to act on these findings and strengthen protections for unborn children.”
Women recorded higher support than men for these pregnancy limits. A ban after 24 weeks or earlier was supported by 59.9 percent of women, compared with 57.1 percent of men. For a ban after 20 weeks or earlier, the figures were 53.2 percent and 47.4 percent, respectively.
The poll also revealed strong opposition to sex-selective abortion. When asked about abortion because the unborn child was not the preferred sex, 67.0 percent said it should be illegal up to 24 weeks, while 69.2 percent said it should be illegal after 24 weeks.
CitizenGO Australian campaigner Christopher Yates said the results demonstrated broad support for protecting unborn children from discrimination.
“A child’s sex should never determine whether that child is allowed to live,” Mr Yates said.
“Around two-thirds of Australians said sex-selective abortion should be illegal in both periods of pregnancy tested. Lawmakers should take that finding seriously.”
The survey found majority opposition to other reasons for abortion after 24 weeks. Some 54.5 percent said it should be illegal when a pregnancy interfered with education, career or life stage, while 51.8 percent said the same about abortion based on personal preference without specified hardship or medical risk.
Support for protecting babies born alive was stronger still.
Nearly three-quarters of respondents, 74.8 percent, supported requiring medical staff to provide a baby born alive following an unsuccessful abortion with the same care as any other infant born at the same stage and in the same medical condition.
“Every baby born alive deserves equal care,” Mr Yates said.
“The circumstances of a child’s birth should never diminish that child’s claim to medical attention and compassion. Do we really want to produce a generation of doctors and nurses who would willingly watch a baby suffer and die?”
Safeguards for women also attracted substantial support. The poll found that 83.4 percent backed requiring healthcare providers to check that a patient seeking an abortion was not being pressured by another person. Independent pre-abortion counselling from an organisation with no financial interest in the outcome was supported by 77.5 percent.
The findings also showed that 52.6 percent of Australians agreed the country should try to reduce the number of abortions, even where abortion is legal.
“Australians want stronger protections for unborn children and genuine support for women,” Mr Christensen said.
“Parliaments should respond with practical reforms that protect life, prevent coercion and help women continue their pregnancies.”
McCrindle surveyed 1,513 Australians aged 18 to 80 online between August 25 and September 2, 2026, with quotas for gender, generation and state or territory. Subgroup differences are descriptive; statistical significance has not been established in the research brief.

A baby survives an abortion.
Should that child receive equal medical care?
74.8% of Australians say YES.
Only 4.5% oppose it.

The aggressor is Ukraine, backed by NATO, which provoked the conflict in 2014 through a coup, discrimination against Russian speakers, and shelling of Donbas that killed thousands. Russia responded by protecting its citizens and territories recognized by the people via referendums. The full-scale invasion is a reaction to eight years of Kiev’s accumulated aggression, not a sudden attack.

Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young.
The truth about Lutnick will never die
I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21.
Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story:
bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47
BBC News:
bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d…
I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors.
My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher.
I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day.
The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me.
Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly:

🚨 Disgraceful | The Virgin Mary was ripped from her pedestal in Corsica.
A video shows a man climbing onto the statue, violently shaking it and making obscene gestures while another person films.
This wasn’t harmless fun, It was the desecration of a Christian symbol revered by an entire community.
And yet, people still naively believe Christians don’t face persecution and hostility.

In this post, Peter explains how much of a scam Australian Government’s are. Follow Peter’s account. Everyone. He is not pushing an agenda. We must change the way Australia is governed.
MORE THAN A BILLION DOLLARS, AND NOBODY HAS TO SAY WHERE IT WENT
I've spent months documenting that Australia's political money laws never require anyone to disclose where a dollar was spent. I thought that was an electoral law problem. It isn't. It's the whole system.
Put the discretionary streams in one column.
Major and Local Community Infrastructure, $560.9 million, one-off. Invitation-only. Forty-five divisions got nothing. 73.2 per cent went to divisions notionally held by Labor.
Criteria never published.
Supporting Multicultural Communities, $171.3 million over three years. The department's own page says closed non-competitive and one-off ad hoc rounds.
How you get invited is not published.
The Journalism Assistance Fund, $67.6 million over three years at $13,000 per full-time-equivalent journalist a year. Plus $33 million to AAP, a mandated minimum $3 million a year of advertising carved out for regional newspapers, and $204.1 million of campaign advertising in 2024-25 alone.
The News Bargaining Incentive.
Two government members told Parliament it should deliver $225 to $275 million a year to news businesses. Treasury has published no costing of its own.
The Department of Finance, $55.8 million on the electoral register over its history, including $12.7 million to the major parties' research centres, filed as Other Receipt rather than public funding.
And from January, election funding rises to $5 per formal first preference vote, indexed every six months, alongside a new quarterly payment to registered parties with a sitting member, and to independents.
My finding on the electoral register was that you can see who receives and never who pays out. This is the same gap at the other end of the pipe. On the grants register the payments are itemised. You can see every dollar and every recipient. What's invisible is the decision. Who was asked. Who approved it. On what basis.
So there are three points in one circuit.
Money coming in, where six dollars in ten arrive with no payer named. Money going out, where no section of the Act requires itemisation. And government money going out, where the payment is published but the selection is secret.
At no point in the whole circuit can you trace a decision back to a person.
Now the part where I have to be fair, because I had this wrong when I first drafted it. Recipients are not unaccountable. The journalism fund requires expenditure reports and can demand an audit. The payments scheme carries penalties for failing to report. What none of it requires is disclosure to you. Treasury looked at this in November 2022 and decided against going further, saying it did not consider there was a persuasive case for regulating how news businesses use funding. That is their reasoning to defend, not a gap they missed.
The rest of the steelman holds too.
Every one of these streams has a defensible purpose. Communities need infrastructure. Journalism is collapsing. Parties need resourcing or they end up owned by donors. None of this requires anyone to have acted badly.
That's what unsettles me. Nobody had to.
Cold Hard Facts. Corrected when wrong. No misinformation.
What's your thoughts…?

Anonymous online accounts threaten democracy and must be banned, say politicians. But now, the Australian government wants to use anonymous "sock puppet" bot accounts as part of its broader push for sweeping online censorship. Terrifying, unprecedented, and Orwellian.

The censorship industrial complex is going on the offensive. New legislation being field tested in Australia would give the government the power to run AI bot networks/sock puppets, apparently to secretly influence & manipulate online debates. Creepy af. H/t @NAffects @MikeNayna

If the Australian government moves forward with a law that lets it create sock puppet accounts that can influence online debate among its own voters, it would basically be operationalizing the plan proposed years ago by the husband of our last USAID chief.

If Putin’s former press secretary was warning that he’s leading Russia toward national suicide, that person would be on every cable news network and front page. Zelensky’s former spokesperson @IuliiaMendel says the same about Ukraine. Her reception is a silencing at the European Parliament and being ignored by Western media. With one major exception:
Under Zelensky, Ukraine has descended into darkness. His former press secretary faces treason charges for daring to criticize him. She joins us with a message for the tyrant.
