This one really hurts. I grew up with Looney Tunes and this man behind so many of the iconic voices that made me smile and fall in love with cartoons… Rest in peace

The great Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, passed away 11 years ago today. He was just 55 years old when we lost him. Iwata’s leadership of Nintendo and our industry will never be forgotten. I miss him every day.

Movies still come on Blu-ray, music is still pressed on vinyl and books still fill store shelves. But as Sony moves to phase out physical PlayStation releases, many gamers are asking why video games should be the first major entertainment medium to go all digital. nbcnews.com/tech/video-games…
For gamers, the fight to ‘save the disc’ is about more than nostalgia

For gamers, the fight to ‘save the disc’ is about more than nostalgia

Sony said it will stop releasing new PlayStation games on physical discs in 2028, a move critics say leaves players buying revocable licenses instead of games they truly own.

My Twitter/X experience. Me: Hey this movie looks pretty cool. Comments: this is the worst thing ever I hope these filmmakers die! Me: I might try this game, might be fun. Comments: I hope this company fires everyone and they all lose their homes! Me: I like this sports team. Comments: fuck your team I hope you burn in hell. Me: this wrestler is hilarious. Comments: he sucks and I hope his children get sick! This place is gross.

If you love videogames, ALWAYS root for a game to succeed, the ripple effect of a failed game on the industry impacts the people who make the games and us the people who enjoy playing them for many years afterwards (you're witnessing that impact right now)

Tired of seeing headlines of how many players Highguard has lost. Like, sure, you can argue that's putting facts out there, but I cant escape the feeling there's just this "celebration" of a game doing badly and just putting out negative headlines for the sake of it. Shouldnt us game devs even try?
