Zimbabwe has so far gone for 312 consecutive days without load shedding, a major milestone in the country's energy stability and economic transformation drive. The development was highlighted by the Energy Portfolio Committee Chairperson, Hon. Charlton Hwende, during the Pre-Budget Seminar held in Bulawayo. The achievement reflects sustained investment in energy generation, rehabilitation and infrastructure development under the able leadership of His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. Improved power supply is critical for industrial growth, manufacturing capacity utilisation, agricultural production, mining and service delivery, in line with the objectives of National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and Vision 2030. Consistent electricity availability strengthens business confidence, reduces production costs and supports Government's thrust towards an upper middle-income society, leaving no one and no place behind. #NyikaInovakwaNeveneVayo

Affordable Data Key to Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Varakashi4ED Operations Director Cde Dereck Goto has called for comprehensive policy and tax reforms to reduce the cost of mobile data in Zimbabwe, describing affordable internet access as a critical driver of economic growth and digital transformation. Following concerns raised by Senate President Cde Marble Chinomona at the 2027 pre-budget seminar in Bulawayo, ICT Minister Hon Tatenda Mavetera highlighted energy costs, imported bandwidth and multiple levies as major contributors to high data prices. Government has already taken steps to liberalise the market, reduce ICT fees and review the regulatory framework, while the licensing of Starlink and the expansion of shared telecommunications infrastructure present opportunities to improve competition, connectivity and affordability. Cde Goto proposes six key measures for the 2027 National Budget, including reforming excise duty, removing taxes on network equipment and solar-powered telecommunications infrastructure, harmonising local authority charges, strengthening the Universal Services Fund, protecting infrastructure against vandalism and ensuring that tax concessions translate into lower consumer tariffs. He argues that affordable data is no longer a luxury but an economic necessity for students, farmers, small businesses and young entrepreneurs who increasingly depend on digital platforms. These proposed reforms could accelerate the realisation of Smart Zimbabwe 2030 and His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa's Vision 2030 by expanding digital inclusion.....🐊✊ ____________________ Follow Channel For More News Feeds 📌 whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb6…

MINISTER RWODZI SCOOPS UNSTOPPABLE AFRICAN CABINET MINISTER OF THE YEAR 2026. Zimbabwe’s growing influence on the continental tourism landscape has received a major international endorsement following the recognition of the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, as Unstoppable African Cabinet Minister of the Year 2026. The prestigious accolade was presented at the inaugural Unstoppable African Awards, held on 31 October 2026 at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, during the launch of The Africa Agenda Forum (TAAF). The recognition followed a continent-wide and global public voting process, placing Zimbabwe firmly among Africa’s distinguished performers in public leadership and development. The award represents more than an individual achievement. It is a powerful affirmation of the strategic direction Zimbabwe is pursuing under President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s Heritage-Based Tourism Development Agenda, which places the country’s rich historical, cultural, natural and traditional heritage at the centre of economic transformation. Under the Second Republic, tourism has increasingly been positioned as a strategic economic sector capable of attracting investment, creating employment, empowering communities and generating opportunities across the country. From the majestic Victoria Falls to the Great Zimbabwe Monument, from the country’s wildlife reserves to its diverse cultural traditions and gastronomy, Zimbabwe is harnessing its heritage as an economic asset. In her acceptance remarks, delivered by Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Winpeg Moyo, Minister Rwodzi expressed humility and gratitude, describing the recognition as an affirmation of the collective efforts being made to reposition tourism as a driver of national development. She acknowledged President Mnangagwa’s leadership in placing tourism at the centre of Zimbabwe’s economic transformation agenda in pursuit of Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy. She also recognised the contribution of the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, Patron of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry, whose work in promoting Zimbabwe’s heritage, culture, wildlife and gastronomy continues to strengthen the country’s destination identity. The award was received on the Minister’s behalf by Ambassador Moyo, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Dr Takaruza Munyanyiwa, and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer, Dr George Manyaya. Kenya’s Minister for Public Service, Hon. Geoffrey Ruku, emerged as first runner-up, followed by Kenya’s Minister of East African Affairs, Hon. Beatrice Askul, while Uganda’s Minister for Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, secured third runner-up. Beyond the trophy and recognition, this achievement reinforces an important national development message: Zimbabwe’s heritage is not merely a treasure to be preserved; it is an economic resource to be developed, celebrated and passed on to future generations. As the country intensifies its efforts to strengthen Destination Zimbabwe’s competitiveness, the recognition provides fresh momentum for tourism investment, destination marketing and community-based tourism development. Zimbabwe is no longer simply telling its tourism story; it is increasingly earning recognition for the story it is writing. From our heritage to our hospitality, our culture to our natural wonders, Zimbabwe is taking its rightful place on the African and global stage. Zimbabwe is on the move. Our heritage is our strength. Our destination is our pride! @MOTHI_ZIMBABWE @ZtaUpdates @BarbaraRwodzi #ExperienceZimbabwe #NhakaYedu #IlifaLethu #OurHeritage #ThisIsUs #ZimBho👍🏿

IMMT TAX REDUCTION SIGNALS COMMITMENT TO ECONOMIC RELIEF Government’s consideration of a further reduction in the Intermediated Money Transfer Tax (IMTT) demonstrates a responsive approach to economic governance and the need to ease financial pressure on citizens and businesses. Stemming out as one of the Conference resolutions following deliberations at the recently held 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference in Chinhoyi, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s has consequently made pronouncements indicating that the proposals for further reductions in transaction costs were receiving serious consideration. His remarks during the 2027 Pre-Budget Seminar in Bulawayo reinforce the importance of translating Party resolutions into practical policy measures that promote economic prosperity and improve livelihoods. · Translating Conference resolutions into tangible economic relief :The ongoing consideration of an IMTT reduction reflects the principle that Conference resolutions should translate into practical interventions that respond to the needs of the citizenry. Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s indication that treasury was considering further reductions from the current 1.5% rate on ZiG transactions demonstrates that the proposals are receiving attention at the policy implementation level. This reinforces the Conference theme, “From Resolutions to Results”, by highlighting the importance of moving beyond political commitments towards measures capable of delivering tangible economic benefits. The eventual implementation of the proposed reduction will ease transaction costs, increase disposable income and provide relief to individuals and businesses navigating prevailing economic pressures. · Demonstrating responsive leadership and inclusive economic governance :The consideration of further IMTT reductions reinforces the importance of aligning Party resolutions with Government policy priorities. H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the Party have both emphasised the need for Conference resolutions to benefit the citizenry, placing public welfare at the centre of political commitments. The ongoing Treasury deliberations demonstrate an intention to respond to these priorities through policy consideration and implementation. This reflects an approach to governance in which concerns raised through Party structures inform national development priorities and economic interventions. By considering measures that could reduce the cost of transacting, Government is demonstrating its recognition that economic prosperity must be reflected in the everyday experiences of ordinary citizens, entrepreneurs and productive businesses. · Promoting formal banking and strengthening confidence in the Zimbabwean currency :Reducing transaction taxes contributes to a more affordable and accessible financial environment for citizens, entrepreneurs and small-to-medium enterprises. Lower transaction costs encourage greater use of formal banking channels, improve business cash flows and reduce the additional expenses associated with everyday financial transactions. Such an intervention supports efforts to strengthen public confidence in the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) by making its use more convenient and cost-effective. This is particularly important in promoting a financial environment in which formal transactions are encouraged through practical incentives rather than unnecessary cost burdens. Ultimately, a reduction in IMTT will complement broader measures aimed at strengthening currency stability, expanding financial inclusion and supporting sustainable economic growth. #FromResolutionsToResults #InclusiveDevelopment #EconomicProsperity

BULAWAYO-VIC FALLS ROAD REHABILITATION SHOWS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT IN ACTION The Second Republic, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, continues to prioritise infrastructure development as a key driver of Zimbabwe's economic transformation. Through the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP), Government is upgrading and modernising the country's road network to improve connectivity, enhance road safety and stimulate economic activity. A notable milestone is the rehabilitation and opening to traffic of 73.4 kilometres of the 440-kilometre Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road. This strategic highway connects Bulawayo, Hwange and Victoria Falls, supporting tourism, commerce and the movement of people and goods. Its rehabilitation aligns with the objectives of National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and Vision 2030, which seek to accelerate economic growth, modernise infrastructure and build an empowered and prosperous upper middle-income society. The rehabilitation demonstrates the Second Republic's commitment to building infrastructure that supports economic growth. Roads are essential economic enablers, connecting producers to markets, businesses to customers and communities to essential services. By improving this corridor, Government is strengthening movement of goods and people while creating better conditions for commercial activity along the route. The Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway is a vital transport corridor linking major economic and tourism centres, including Bulawayo, Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls. Improved road conditions enhance the travel experience for tourists, strengthen access to attractions and support businesses in hospitality, transport and retail. The road also contributes to regional connectivity through the SADC transport network and forms part of the broader North-South Corridor, which facilitates trade across Southern Africa. By investing in this route, Government is strengthening infrastructure needed to support tourism growth, cross-border commerce and regional integration. A well-maintained road network is fundamental to public safety and efficient transport. The rehabilitation is expected to provide smoother journeys, improve driving conditions and help reduce vehicle operating costs and travel delays. It also supports reliable movement of agricultural produce, industrial goods and essential supplies. Zimbabwe's journey towards Vision 2030 requires sustained investment in infrastructure that strengthens productivity, attracts investment and improves quality of life. The Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road rehabilitation demonstrates how strategic transport infrastructure can support tourism, trade and economic participation. Under President Mnangagwa's leadership, the Second Republic continues to pursue a development agenda centred on modernisation, domestic capacity-building and expansion of economic opportunities. #NDS2 #Vision2030 #NyikaInovakwaNeveneVayo #InfrastructureDevelopment

ZIMBABWE’S INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION POWERS VISION 2030 Zimbabwe’s manufacturing capacity utilisation has increased from 57% in 2025 to 63.2% by the end of the third quarter of 2026, according to figures announced by Industry and Commerce Minister, Hon. Mangaliso Ndlovu. This 6.2 percentage-point improvement is an important indicator of the country’s industrial performance and economic transformation. It shows that more manufacturing firms are making productive use of installed machinery, equipment and infrastructure to increase domestic production. At a time when Zimbabwe is implementing National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) towards Vision 2030, improved manufacturing activity underscores the importance of industrialisation, import substitution, value addition, job creation and private-sector investment. The increase from 57% to 63.2% signals progress in utilisation of existing productive infrastructure and presents opportunities for further expansion. However, the remaining 36.8% of idle capacity provides room for additional production and investment. Zimbabwe must therefore continue addressing constraints affecting manufacturers, including electricity supply, access to affordable finance, machinery, technology and production costs. Under NDS2, the objective is to translate increased capacity utilisation into sustainable industrial output, employment creation and export growth. The 25th COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit held in Harare on 22 October 2026, under the theme “One Market, One Future: Advancing Inclusive Industrialisation, Investment and Regional Integration in COMESA,” provides a regional platform for this agenda. Zimbabwe’s assumption of the COMESA Chairmanship under His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa creates an opportunity to advance inclusive industrialisation, intra-COMESA trade, investment and value addition. Local manufacturers must position to supply competitively priced products to the wider 21-member COMESA market. Zimbabwe’s industrial transformation can also benefit from deeper engagement with the Russian Federation through the Russia-Africa partnership framework. Potential areas include agricultural machinery, fertiliser production, mining equipment, energy infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, engineering and industrial technology, with emphasis on technology transfer, skills development and joint ventures. Zimbabwe’s mineral and agricultural resources — lithium, gold, platinum, iron ore, cotton, tobacco, leather and agricultural produce — offer a foundation for competitive industrial value chains. The focus must shift from export of unprocessed commodities to downstream processing and manufacturing of finished and semi-finished goods. His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has consistently placed industrialisation, domestic production and beneficiation at the centre of the Second Republic’s agenda. His mantra, “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,” underscores national ownership in building the economy. The 2026–2030 NDS2 period provides the framework for advancing this agenda, with the rise to 63.2% capacity utilisation serving as an important milestone in Zimbabwe’s industrial development journey. #ZimbabweIndustrialisation #Vision2030 #NDS2 #NyikaInovakwaNeveneVayo

AN URGENT CALL FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS FOR CITY OF BULAWAYO The waste management system in the City of Bulawayo is in a state of serious decline and requires urgent intervention. The situation at Richmond Landfill, commonly known as Ngozi Mine, is particularly concerning, with reports of toxic emissions raising serious health and environmental concerns among residents of Cowdray Park and surrounding communities. There is an urgent need for a comprehensive and sustainable waste management strategy to address the crisis and safeguard the health and well-being of Bulawayo residents. In light of these challenges, the Bulawayo City Council should seriously consider engaging Geo Pomona Waste Management company, taking inspiration from the partnership established with the Harare City Council. Geo Pomona is an established waste management operator whose technological capabilities, operational experience and resource recovery initiatives could potentially offer Bulawayo an effective solution to its waste management challenges. · Service delivery above everything else :It is important that the Bulawayo City Council, under the leadership of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Mayor David Coltart, approaches this matter objectively and puts the interests of residents above political considerations. Waste management is a fundamental municipal responsibility that should never become a political battleground. What matters most is ensuring that residents receive reliable, efficient and consistent waste collection and disposal services, irrespective of political affiliations. · Benefits of contracting Geo Pomona Waste Management :Engaging Geo Pomona could also present significant economic and environmental benefits for the City of Bulawayo. Through modern waste processing and resource recovery systems, the city could benefit from valuable by-products, including compost produced from organic waste, recyclable materials such as plastics and metals, and landfill gas, primarily methane, which can potentially be harnessed for energy generation. These initiatives would not only reduce the volume of waste destined for landfills but also promote a circular economy, create economic opportunities and support environmental sustainability. · Geo Pomona is an internationally reputable company :Geo Pomona's technological capabilities and waste separation and sorting systems have attracted interest from regional and international stakeholders. Delegations from South Africa, Namibia, Malawi and Angola have visited its facility to assess its operations, with a view to exploring the potential adoption of similar waste management models in their respective countries. Furthermore, the Government of Botswana recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geo Pomona to explore opportunities for sustainable waste management. Bulawayo should not be left behind when opportunities for modernising municipal services are available. The city deserves a waste management system that reflects its status as one of Zimbabwe's major urban centres #FixBulawayoWaste #BulawayoCleanCity

VARUN’S SUCCESS AFFIRMS ZIMBABWE’S INVESTMENT POTENTIAL Zimbabwe's investment mantra, "Zimbabwe is Open for Business," continues to gain credibility as international companies expand operations and deepen their commitment to the local economy. This is in sync with His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa's clarion call for value addition and investments that directly impact citizens. Speaking at the inaugural Zimbabwe-India Africa Tech and Entrepreneurship Summit 2026 in Harare, Varun Beverages Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer, Mr Vijay Kumar Bahl, admitted that the company had underestimated Zimbabwe's market potential when it entered the country eight years ago. The company's growth from one production line to 11, with two more being installed, is a powerful endorsement of Zimbabwe's investment climate and a compelling message to global investors that the country offers opportunities for sustainable business growth. Varun's monthly production capacity has grown from 10 million to 120 million bottles, reflecting sustained demand and confidence in the local market. Its additional investments in snacks manufacturing and the planned US$250 million beer plant further demonstrate long-term commitment to Zimbabwe. This eight-year investment journey reflects a conducive business environment capable of sustaining investor confidence. Varun's experience should inspire prospective investors to look beyond outdated perceptions and recognise opportunities in manufacturing, technology, agriculture and other productive sectors. Economic diplomacy is delivering tangible results. Through international engagement, investment partnerships and efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, Zimbabwe continues to position itself as a destination for capital and industrial development. The establishment of a dedicated Ministry of Investment Promotion, separate from the Ministry of Finance, signals Government's intention to prioritise investment mobilisation as a driver of economic growth. Supported by ease-of-doing-business reforms and the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency's One-Stop Investment Services Centre, this institutional focus encourages both domestic and foreign businesses to expand. Varun Beverages' sustained presence also reflects the value of the longstanding relationship between Zimbabwe and India, and reinforces Zimbabwe's foreign policy principle of "Friend to All, Enemy to None," which promotes cooperation and mutually beneficial partnerships. #ZimbabweIsOpenForBusiness #InvestorConfidence #InvestmentPromotion

National Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Advocate Jacob Francis Mudenda, has called for increased funding for the rehabilitation and widening of the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls major highway. Speaking at the National Pre-Budget Seminar held in Bulawayo, Adv. Mudenda urged Treasury to prioritize and allocate more resources towards the full rehabilitation and upgrading of the strategic highway. Hon. Adv. Mudenda also proposed the establishment of additional tollgates along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road, similar to the Harare-Bulawayo Highway model, as a sustainable mechanism to raise dedicated funds for the rehabilitation, widening and maintenance of the road. The Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road is a critical economic and tourism artery linking Matabeleland region to Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park and regional SADC markets. Its rehabilitation remains a key priority under the Second Republic's infrastructure development drive. #Budget2026
