Today, on September 11th, we honor the lives lost, pray for their families, and offer our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, police officers, and everyday heroes who stepped forward to help. Americans can overcome any adversity when we remain united, empathetic and grateful.

Happy Pentecost! With the current division & despair in our world, I find inspiration in Peter’s sermon in Acts 2 and the promise that God will "pour out my Spirit on all flesh." We truly need God’s Spirit to unify and mobilize us to do good in the world, following Jesus.

On Ash Wednesday, I joined a community of Christian leaders who released "A Call to Christians in a Crisis of Faith and Democracy." During Lent, I'm going to take a break from social media and pray, fast and help the poor (Matthew 6) acalltochristians.org/

Happy birthday, Dad. Your faith in humanity, your insistence on love over hate, and your belief that everyone can serve continue to renew me. In the darkest of times, your legacy is a light. When I feel hopeless, your spirit carries me. You will forever be in my heart.

"It was Christ’s humble birth that set the stage. It was the first lesson in a series: to oppress others is to oppress Christ, to hate others is to hate Christ, and to love your enemies can be the most dangerous and revolutionary act of them all."
