Local piemaker explains how Burnham's first Budget will make things much worse:
"I donโt qualify for the business rates relief because Iโm multi-siteโฆ Iโve got two shops, so I donโt qualify. The minimum wage has increased. Iโm not saying we shouldnโt pay staff. Iโm saying we canโt afford to pay themโฆ
All my staff have been with us for years. So Iโm going to have approximately a ยฃ700 a week increase. My suppliers are having an increase too. My supply bills are around ยฃ20,000 to ยฃ30,000 a week. Thatโll go up 10%, so ยฃ2,000 to ยฃ3,000 a week. So thatโs ยฃ4,000 a week Iโve got to findโฆ
Thatโs about 20,000 to 30,000 pies a week. So my costs have gone up. Iโve got no business rates relief. The National Insurance is crippling me. The energy crisis is crippling me. Iโm going to have to put my prices up,
Customers are going to get mad. Iโm going to get less profit. As a family, as a director, Iโve got to take a 2% cut. So my family, my one-year-old girl. Iโm taking a pay cut. The business is taking a pay cut.
How is that breathing room for me? Whereโs my breathing space? John Healey, if youโre listening, whereโs my breathing space? You promised me. You promised the UK breathing space. Where is it?"

๐จ NEW: Nigel Farage says Reform candidates will not be banned for liking Tommy Robinson posts.
โข Nigel Farage has said candidates for Reform UK will not be prevented from standing if they like social media posts by Tommy Robinson.
โข Speaking on Radio 4โs Today programme, the Reform leader said: โI wouldnโt ban anybody for liking someone like Tommy Robinson. Wouldnโt be my cup of tea, but I wouldnโt ban anybody from doing so.โ
โข He added that he does not want the party to get into a world of cancel culture, though he would act if someone supported something outright wrong.
โข Farage said any response would depend on the specific post. โIโm not going to run a party where we say โyou canโt talk about that person or that person.โ We have to be sensible about vetting, and we are.โ
โข Farage claimed the party vets its council candidates to a much higher level than any other political party.

Hard to argue
Slipped quietly onto the bottom of the Sky News feed on a Friday evening: former Tory Campaign Director Anthony Lee, his wife Laura, and an ex-party staffer handed suspended sentences after using insider knowledge on the election date to attempt to pocket ยฃ23,000+ through rigged bets.
Notice how the establishment apparatus handles real corruption. High-ranking Conservative officials abusing government secrets for personal financial gain get a soft-touch suspended sentence and a discreet, late-night media burial.
Meanwhile, look at the contrast with Reform UK. Mainstream media outlets deploy undercover operatives, obsessively hound minor local activists, and demand immediate police scrutiny or political execution over every minor comment made by Reform staff and members.
If a Reform candidate had abused insider state intelligence to clear ยฃ23k in a gambling scheme, it would be leading the 10 o'clock news for a month and driving national headlines. When the Tory establishment literally cheats the system, it gets brushed under the rug on a Friday night.
Two-tier justice. Two-tier media. Two-tier Britain.

Another interesting "direction of travel" decision here.
Kemi's "New" Conservative Party has re-selected REMAINER Roger Gale as a parliamentary candidate.
Gale is 83, and recently REFUSED to vote for ECHR withdrawal, and in fact called the idea of leaving "a grave mistake."
He was previously suspended from parliament for attempted to influence judges to protect a sexual assault convict, his friend and former MP Charlie Elphicke.
Tell us, @KemiBadenoch, Is this really a NEW Conservative Party?
Or is it the SAME OLD TORIES?
I'm following all the things the Tory party is doing. And one of those things is selecting their candidates for the next election.
Remember, Kemi Badenoch keeps claiming that it's a NEW Conservative Party, and one that learned from their "mistakes."
So why then, have they just selected yet ANOTHER Remainer candidate, who voters already kicked out in 2024?
David Morris MP has just been selected for Morecombe and Lunsdale.
He was an arch Cameroon. A firm Remainer. And said in an interview about his renewed candidacy: "I am returning to... finish what I started.โ
UH... What you started over those 14 failed years?
NO THANKS!
P.S. Guess what David did in his years out of parliament?
That's right!
He went to be Vice President to the Council of Europe, and in a ceremony at the Palais de Europe in Strasbourg on the evening of Monday September 29, Mr Theodoros Roussopoulos the President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, awarded Mr Morris with the Medal of Europe.
"Iโm truly humbled to accept this prestigious award," Morris said.

If one values accuracy and truth from data, this is a must read. The question remains, is this problem isolated or common?
On Thursday morning, @RestoreBritain founder @RupertLowe10 tweeted: โThis is important - the latest huge MRP poll has Restore Britain ahead in more Scottish constituencies than both Reform or the Tories.โ
The data he cited envisaged a hypothetical tactical voting scenario in a giant MRP poll issued by FindOutNow and Electoral Calculus.
It showed that in a world where voters pick tactically (the long explainer for that here, for the nerds like me), Restore Britain would finish ahead of other โparties on the rightโ in 21 Scottish seats, with the Tories finishing top of this trio in 13, and Reform finishing top in just 12. Eleven of them, it claimed, would be tied.
He concluded: โThis is remarkable. Restore Britain is now the second largest party in Scotland, and the largest party on the right - bigger than both Reform and the Tories.โ
Indeed it would have been remarkable. If only it were true.
My analysis of the poll over hours on Thursday morning led me to realise there was a methodological inconsistency.
I found that although the tactical-voting calculations appeared to affect support for other parties, they actually incorrectly left Restoreโs share in every constituency exactly as it was prior to tactical voting.
So I shared my findings with the pollster and the immediately corrected their data. The result? ZERO seats where Restore Britain finishes "top of the parties on the right" AND more crucially, it now hands Reform an extra 25 seats nationally.
My full tear down and explainer of this are at my Substack, linked in the first reply below.
You have no idea how much time and brain power it took to go through reams of data to understand what went wrong here for the pollster.

Owen Jones came on Triggernometry. After being given lots of speaking time, he was asked a few probing questions and immediately turned the conversation into a gotcha style debate. This naturally resulted in him being destroyed with facts and lots of people on the internet laughing at him.
Now he is so butthurt, he spends his days posting videos no one watches about how he was right about everything. While having me and Francis blocked.
