It seems the news has been cancelled today, and all our mainstream media have decided we need a dose of propaganda to keep our spirits up and drive us towards an unnecessary war.

Rees-Mogg tells us that at the age of 7 he became interested in money and the stock market, investing a £50 gift from a relative. At school he would sit reading the FT and ignoring lessons. At the age of 12 he was filmed in the back of a Rolls Royce stating in his weird robotic monotone "I love money, always have done. Why? Because you need money and with money, you can make more money." His extreme, manufactured 'Edwardian gentleman' persona was constructed at boarding school as a defence mechanism. This, alongside his money and tokenistic Roman Catholicism, protects him from a reality of which he is all too aware - he is a distinctly immoral, unsociable, untalented, unattractive human being unable to justify his wealth and status. In the world of parasitic, financialised capitalism and class-vicarious warmongering imperialism, Rees-Mogg is the norm.
