Mhmm
By the way. Distribution is the very first thing you learn in algebra, and here you are arguing against it
Your calculator looks very flawed by the way. Here's mine by comparison

The division isn't what's dividing people. No pun intended
People who live by PEMDAS and/or never were taught algebra do not understand multiplication by juxtaposition. 2(1+2) -has- to be solved first : (2x1+2x2). This is why you get two different answers if you add * instead
"formatted in a way"
Yeah. It changed. Ironically formatted that way, it would need to acknowledge multiplication by juxtaposition to be a thing to give 9
Meanwhile, if you know algebra properly or use a calculator that knows algebra properly
Meanwhile my calculator seems to have a great reputation. I will cherish my 20 years old calculator forever now
It is multiplying but by juxtaposition which is higher priority than "normal" multiplications. That's why the answer changes if you add *
To be accurate, the calculator has to be scientific. Don't know if that one is branded as one, but my intuitions say it's not the case
Kind of a funny self-own
The first calculator ; The one with the right answer, proudly describes itself as a scientific calculator. That means it respects algebra and implied multiplication priorities
You only get 9 if you modify the equation by adding *
