You can tell Donald Trump is spiritually a New York Met because everything is turning to shit halfway through a 4 year deal

With MVP Finalists being announced, I thought I'd share a combined WAR leaderboard for both leagues. These 2 graphics show 2026 mean bWAR, fWAR, and WARP, while capping outliers at ±1 WAR (i.e., player X has 5 fWAR, 5.2 bWAR, but 7.5 WARP; WARP is capped at 6.2). I felt this was a happy medium between maintaining balance and showing how each system values players.
Note: Fig. 1 has Ohtani's hitting + pitching; Fig. 2 has only Ohtani's hitting.

You may think this continues in 2027 with them missing the postseason. But clearly the work stoppage will necessitate a shorter season and expanded playoff. So the Phillies will get eliminated from a round of the playoffs that doesn’t exist yet. NBA play-in tournament equivalent.

Going back to the start of the 2024 postseason, Phillies relievers have a 12.19 ERA when pitching with a lead.
