Very disappointing to see gen AI used in tokusatsu,
From its start to today, practical techniques are what create the magic of toku. CGI is still human made and can help enhance or push the medium further than before,
But gen AI can never recreate the soul behind real people
this weeks Teo episode was BEAUTIFUL, they played with such wonderful themes.
the characters are so amazing and impactful to me, I hope ibuki is able to tell them the truth soon, it would benefit them all </3
toei has been actively using ai in projects since gozyuger, while in the shows tsuburaya has not
you're just here to cherry pick
the difference is the company used it for things that didn't go through, while toei made a division to use it IN THE SHOWS and diminish the work

if toei have any integrity left they must drop the use of genAI, for a tokusatsu company to use something made from stolen art that harms the planet is a shocking betrayal of their own origins. that, and it always looks terrible, on the less important side of things.
