There is no debate on whether or not the Chiefs should be running the QB sneak/tush push. I don’t have a research department but here’s what I gathered from ChatGPT. The most recent serious injury on a QB sneak was Patrick Mahomes on October 17th, 2019, Week 7. He missed two games. Since then, there’ve been about 1,550 quarterback sneaks and tush pushes documented from 2020 through 2025, plus additional attempts in late 2019 and this season. The league reported ZERO QB sneak/tush push injuries to Quarterbacks since Mahomes’ injury in 2019. Another interesting note, based on an article from the KC Star, the Chiefs only converted on 52.4% of 3rd and 4th down situations of a yard or less to go in 2022 and 2023. It’s not complete data, but even just taking that set against the roughly 85% conversion rate that the QB Sneak/Tush Push produced in the same situation says the Chiefs and Andy Reid are making a massive mistake by refusing to run this play. Also according to ChatGPT, the Chiefs have only ran 3 Tush Push plays (none with Mahomes) in the last 4 years. Long story short, the QB Sneak/Tush Push is the answer to the Chiefs’ long-standing issue in short yardage and goal line situations and Andy Reid needs to simply look at the data and make the easy call.

The more I think about it Mahomes would be a fantastic tush push guy

The Chiefs have run the ball 13 times from inside the 5-yard line and scored on just 2 of them. It's the worst percentage in the NFL. It's also the argument for the sneak: kansascity.com/sports/spt-co…

I remember a @SamMcDowell11 article back when the trade happened about Justin Fields being the QB sneak guy. He’s been one of the most efficient at that play in the NFL during his tenure but Andy wont even do that.

This is from Google AI, so do with that what you want but the data is out there that shows that QB sneaks/tush pushes don’t put your QB in a position to get injured, and injuries actually occur more frequently on short-yardage passing plays. @Chiefs you guys should consider this data moving forward when you have 2nd and goal from the 1 with a timeout in your pocket to win the game.

My thoughts after sleeping that one off: - Chiefs continue to be the only team that refuses to run the QB sneak/tush push. That would have won them the game yesterday. However, they are ok with actively making their O-Line worse and forcing Mahomes to run for his life (which is what lead to the most severe injury of his career) - Clock management was bad. That was some old-school Andy clocked management. - Young guys need to continue to get more snaps. Johnson has a monster game and Cyrus Allen has great hands (smallest sample size ever but that catch he made at the sticks was tough) - Butker costs you more opportunities than he gives you anymore. He used to be an automatic 3 points from 55 and in. Now he’s giving your opponent great field position at least once per game. He has to go. Eat the money and move on. - This team still doesn’t have a down-field threat without Thornton. Need to address this. Why are they afraid of using Worthy on any routes past the line of scrimmage? Is he really that bad at route running? - Rice being back is big, but with Rice back Worthy just recedes into nothing. - Players played well enough to win that game. I blame this one 98% on coaching.

The Chiefs were 80-2 with Patrick Mahomes when they had a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter before the 28-24 loss to the Broncos.

Hate to say it cause he’s a legend and a HOFer but CJ hasn’t been a real difference maker in a couple years
Chris Jones did not record a tackle, sack, or QB pressure tonight btw.

You refuse to run a QB sneak but continue to trot Mahomes out there behind a suspect O-Line year after year. Doesn’t make sense

If the Chiefs were smart they would have tush pushed on the 1. Still had a timeout

That false start was weak, but it’s not the reason the Chiefs lost today. A cute little play on first and goal instead of running with Walker was a terrible play call

That’s a great example of why Remigio doesn’t need to be returning kicks or be on the team anymore
