If you've induced phages, you may have wondered if you can do the 'opposite' - block entry into lysogeny. You can, using protein synthesis inhibitors! Better still, this yields a potent synergy, functionally turning a temperate phage into a virulent one.

We are very concerned about the #cholera situation: 23 countries are currently reporting cases. Comoros and Mayotte are the newest on the list since last week, both reporting cases for the first time in over 15 years.
It's 2024, humanity has transformed the planet, and yet many people still don't have basic necessities: clean water, soap and toilets.
And the cholera vaccine remains in shortfall, while cases continue to rise.
We cannot accept this.
@WHO joins @IFRC, @MSF and @UNICEF in calling for the urgent fast-tracking of life-saving measures.
Millions at risk from #cholera due to lack of clean water, soap and toilets and shortage of cholera vaccine.
Immediate action is needed to stem an unprecedented multi-year upsurge in cholera cases worldwide bit.ly/3TtDpwD
