Wow! From the passenger seat I texted @hey__fo, my new AI assistant. 10 mins later: hubbie & I have date night plans locked in + b’day gifts found for bro-in-law. It makes the calls, buys the gifts, runs the errands. @wajo_ai @shivanipod… tx from a v busy working mum👏🏾

This is just so so sad. No one should die from a miscarriage and she and her husband were not believed because she wasn’t complaining. The thing I am most sad about, is that I can see how easily this could happen again ☹️
Absolutely heartbreaking story. "My wife’s condition worsened with continued heavy bleeding and severe pain. I informed the nurses several times about her deterioration, but my concerns were ignored." stokesentinel.co.uk/news/sto…

It’s hard for me to believe there are now over 700 people working at @neko. For over a year we were less than 10 people, and it feels like that was just yesterday! Couldn’t think of a better way to wrap my head around it than getting everyone into a room together. So last week, we brought the whole global team to Stockholm. To -10°C and to mountains of snow. We had people coming from all over, New York and LA to Berlin and Manchester, from nurses and doctors to architects and AI engineers. 2026 will be our most important year yet!

We're bringing @neko to the US this spring, starting with New York! With now over 300k people on our waitlist, the Neko Body Scan will offer New Yorkers a completely new healthcare experience that combines breakthrough scanning technology with personalized preventive care. ...and our dedicated US waitlist is now open! So if you live in or travel to New York, join the waitlist now to be at the top of the line when we open our doors in the city. In 2026, we’re also excited to serve exponentially more people. We’ll be opening more locations in the UK & Sweden, and bringing new technology into the scan room powered by our latest research. @eldsjal and I have been talking about our US launch since the earliest days of building this company together. I couldn’t be more fired up that this moment has finally come! Lots of hard work ahead 🏗🏗

🗽 Another city is being stitched on. London. Manchester. Stockholm. Now: New York. We’re bringing @neko to the US to offer scale without compromise. Earlier detection. Better use of data. Care built around people, not disease. New city. Same principles. NY, we’re coming 🩵 #NekoHealth #PreventiveHealth #NewYork #HealthcareInnovation

When I created Claude Code as a side project back in September 2024, I had no idea it would grow to be what it is today. It is humbling to see how Claude Code has become a core dev tool for so many engineers, how enthusiastic the community is, and how people are using it for all sorts of things from coding, to devops, to research, to non-technical use cases. This technology is alien and magical, and it makes it so much easier for people to build and create. Increasingly, code is no longer the bottleneck. A year ago, Claude struggled to generate bash commands without escaping issues. It worked for seconds or minutes at a time. We saw early signs that it may become broadly useful for coding one day. Fast forward to today. In the last thirty days, I landed 259 PRs -- 497 commits, 40k lines added, 38k lines removed. Every single line was written by Claude Code + Opus 4.5. Claude consistently runs for minutes, hours, and days at a time (using Stop hooks). Software engineering is changing, and we are entering a new period in coding history. And we're still just getting started..

AI is voiding two maxims: 1. You should master skills before using them: no longer true in AI, because by the time you master something, brand new tools have been released. Why sharpen your axe when the chainsaw comes out tomorrow? 2. Focus wins: no longer true in AI, because AI allows us to spread our effort and agency over 10x more bets than we ever could before. Companies will start to look more like funds: portfolios of bets.

I've never felt this much behind as a programmer. The profession is being dramatically refactored as the bits contributed by the programmer are increasingly sparse and between. I have a sense that I could be 10X more powerful if I just properly string together what has become available over the last ~year and a failure to claim the boost feels decidedly like skill issue. There's a new programmable layer of abstraction to master (in addition to the usual layers below) involving agents, subagents, their prompts, contexts, memory, modes, permissions, tools, plugins, skills, hooks, MCP, LSP, slash commands, workflows, IDE integrations, and a need to build an all-encompassing mental model for strengths and pitfalls of fundamentally stochastic, fallible, unintelligible and changing entities suddenly intermingled with what used to be good old fashioned engineering. Clearly some powerful alien tool was handed around except it comes with no manual and everyone has to figure out how to hold it and operate it, while the resulting magnitude 9 earthquake is rocking the profession. Roll up your sleeves to not fall behind.

Lots of experienced devs are not going to get through “their grief cycle”, they’ll just leave the industry or move into real management. Coding with AI is not intrinsically enjoyable unless you have an ownership stake in the outputs. It’s not why we got into coding.
Replying to @shazow
Very good questions imo experienced devs have a real advantage but only if they rapidly progress through their grief cycle and adapt, now and onwards. Categorically rejecting or ignoring the new layer would be a mistake.
