The name #BarBoia @Boia_Nit is synonymous with the village of #Cadaqués. Its closure due to “The Shores Law” is incomprehensible - it will be much missed. Dalí, Duchamp, Pla: Historic shore bar in Cadaqués closes after 79 years catalannews.com/life-style/i…

The Times, - Saturday, January 4, 2025 - Page 5 beta.epaper.thetimes.co.uk/a… Brilliant article ⁦@caitlinmoran⁩ Let’s all make it our New Year’s resolution to pick up the phone & call rather than text our friends!

Looking forward to meeting South Suffolk farmers in Westminster tomorrow - I’ll keep fighting for them against the #FamilyFarmTax & alongside @NFUPolitical
'It will be devastating.' Tory MP @jcartlidgemp tells @NickFerrariLBC that he 'strongly opposes' Labour's decision to raise inheritance tax, adding it will be 'damaging for British Farming'.

Wise words @Philippa_Perry. All guilty but feel the young need to be encouraged (taught?)to interact & communicate verbally as opposed to messaging (esp those in same room!) & becoming fearful of making phone calls.
I think as a race, since we stopped talking to each other and started texting instead, our communication skills have deteriorated. People now have a tendency to have relationships with others in their heads instead of with the other person. STOP IT! Talk to each other.

Trump may be lazy @gerardtbaker but his appetite for self-aggrandisement coupled with respect & admiration for Putin, Kim Jong-un even seemingly Hitler + his determination not to listen to advisors makes him indeed a very, very dangerous person for US & rest of the free world.

What bit do these parents not get, encouraging kids to vape? Teenager recently passed out at own party, parents thought drunk, couldn’t rouse next morning. Blood tests @ A&E confirmed her vape had been tampered with drugs! That’s how dealers are making them so addictive
✍️ Latest with @nicolawoolcock as we tackled just how prevalent vaping is in schools. There have been cases of parents passing vapes through school gates and many more shocking revelations in @thetimes

Worth reading to enable the “amateur lawyer” understand how the judicial system works & the clear guidelines that were adhered to.
Why did Huw Edwards avoid prison? Is this evidence of “two-tier justice”? Let’s take a quick look. 🧵 TLDR: This is an entirely expected sentence for offences of this type.

Incredible opportunity for 6 of our budding East Anglian playwrights who form part of new HighTide Writer’s Group, to be supported & mentored by leading playwrights: Alice Birch, Jez Butterworth, Lolita Chakrabarti, Dennis Kelly, Anoushka Lucas & Winsome Pinnock.

Keir Starmer’s had a rocky start & losing public faith but now needs to take a grip. Let’s hope Morgan McSweeney can stabilise the party & enable them to get on with fulfilling its many electoral promises.
'In an attempt to reboot his government, the Prime Minister swapped out Sue Gray for Labour campaign guru Morgan McSweeney – but the negative briefings haven’t stopped quite yet. Now her allies are on the warpath, even hitting out at the PM. Oh dear.' ✍️ Steerpike

Increased frequency of these tragic stabbings esp involving young & in broad daylight of grave national concern. Should be No 1 priority for Government, Police & Social Services to resolve.

Alarming, sickening, dispiriting. How have models gone “beyond size 0..so thin as to be skeletal..like an erasure of women”? If leading fashion editors are shocked & despairing shouldn’t designers eg Stella McCartney & Balenciaga consider responsibility to industry & young?

Totally scandalous. Most mothers need to return to work after 6-9 months mat leave & majority have little option other than finding a nursery & one they can 100%trust. Government plans for 3,000 new nurseries - where do they think they’ll get the (qualified) staff from?

Scandalous, heartbreaking nightmare of a story about tragic impact of cladding scandal on Amanda Walker & affecting countless others. Government must step in before other innocent lives are lost. @Lees_Martina
Within months of telling parliament how her home left her in a financial and emotional black hole, Amanda Walker was dead. Her parents are telling her story ⬇️
