Topo Chico's parent company Coca-Cola said in February that it had stopped production pending necessary “upgrades” at its facility in Mexico. Months later, executives have just confirmed that the restocking of Topo Chico is finally underway — starting in Texas. wapo.st/4zsucrW

In the Senate contest between Ken Paxton and James Talarico, both Republicans and Democrats should prefer a servant leader over a self-serving crook, writes the Editorial Board. houstonchronicle.com/opinion…

Voter: I’m a Republican. I'm an old school Reagan Republican, and I believe personal integrity means things. And so I support people that have good personal integrity, and I like James Talarico. He is the kind of guy we need in office. Q: Not Ken Paxton? Voter: Definitely not Ken Paxton. Like I said, I think we need people with personal integrity. My father taught me personal integrity is what you do when you think nobody's watching, and we know what Mr. Talarico’s opponent will do when nobody's watching. I think we need people that are willing to represent their constituents and not just their donors.

Ossoff: Did you all see that he sent federal agents and spies to Fulton County, Georgia to seize your ballots? Did you see that? Let me be really blunt, because why Fulton County? It's the same reason he's obsessed with Philly. It's the same reason he's obsessed with Detroit. It's because for this committed lifelong racist, the fact that Black voters were instrumental to his defeat is even more offensive than the defeat itself. And so he thought he could send federal agents to Georgia to intimidate you. But how foolish of them to come to the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement to launch an attack on voting rights. What we are seeing right now is that the people's answer is determined and defiant and massive.

I would add open primaries.
These 3 must go if we are to have a truly working healthy democracy

Trump had no legal authority to seize control of California’s National Guard and deploy troops into Los Angeles. A federal appeals court has now affirmed the obvious: there are limits to presidential power regardless of whether Trump likes them or not. And with an election just around the corner, this ruling makes it harder for Trump to misuse and deploy the National Guard to interfere with our elections and your right to vote. nytimes.com/2026/10/24/us/ru…

Ken Paxton filed this lawsuit in the final days of voting because he wants to stop Houstonians from going to the polls. He’s whining about ads that do nothing more than tell neighbors when to vote and where to get information about voting. Paxton is upset that diverse voters across Harris County are making their voices heard. He doesn’t like that in this election, people are showing up in big numbers in neighborhoods like Third Ward, Acres Homes, Cypress, Tidwell, and Sunnyside. Remember this: someone with as much power as the Texas Attorney General would only take desperate action like this lawsuit because he is scared. I hope everyone in Harris County who is eligible to vote sees this lawsuit for what it is, and goes to cast their ballot in this election.
