🚨 NINJA GAIDEN II gets another native PC recompilation — this time with Linux, Steam Deck optimisation and major performance improvements! 🥷🔥
Developer gamboozino has released ng2recomp, bringing the original 2008 Xbox 360 classic to Windows and Linux through static recompilation!
Unlike other NG2 recompilation projects, this version puts particular emphasis on Linux compatibility, efficient rendering and reducing shader stutter.
🔥 KEY IMPROVEMENTS:
✅ Native Linux support — Dedicated AppImage release, avoiding the need to run the Windows version through Proton!
✅ Steam Deck efficiency — Developer reports 60 FPS at just 10 W total system power, compared with 55.4 FPS at 22 W using Xenia Edge in the same test!
✅ Up to 8× resolution — Higher internal rendering resolutions for much sharper graphics!
✅ Reduced shader stutter — All 663 game shaders translated ahead of time, with asynchronous Vulkan pipeline preparation!
✅ Ultrawide support — 21:9 and 32:9 displays supported!
✅ Modern controls — Keyboard/mouse and controller support, with configurable inputs!
🎮 Additional features include mod support, native Vulkan rendering and 60 FPS gameplay.
⚙️ Uses static Xbox 360 PowerPC recompilation rather than conventional console emulation.
📦 v0.5.0 available now for Windows and Linux!
💿 Requires your own Xbox 360 game files with Title Update 3.
⚠️ Early release! Compatibility, performance and mod support may vary. The Steam Deck figures are developer-reported results from one benchmark, not guaranteed performance throughout the game.

Anytime I see child support payments bills I think it’s legitimately slavery and I wouldn’t be surprised if the father crashes out and slimes his family
It confuses me when people talk about a subgenre of music existing because the parent genre was defined by someone. Yes, it was inspired, but it’s not even remotely the same thing. It’s like saying humans are the same just because we share a trait that’s passed down.
Instead of the game punishing me for exploiting peaking and staying behind cover I was able to get away scott free and learn nothing from this encounter other then abusing the system
I’m a game developer for insomniac games and I approve this playstyle
Doing an in class assignment for an online class feels like this when you have like 10 more assignments left for the week
It’s probably the most famous game of all time that is really just ok

Dude really pulled a “life is hard enough” excuse for the people clocking out a 12 hour shift maybe animal crossing is for you bro
The creators of Phantom Blade Zero don’t want players to suffer like they do in Dark Souls. According to the head of S-Game, life is already hard enough without having to struggle in video games too.
The developers have tried to eliminate unnecessary frustration while keeping combat spectacular and intense:
Death carries no major penalties.
Defeated enemies do not respawn.
Boss fights feature checkpoints between phases, so players won’t have to restart the entire battle.
Three difficulty settings are available: Easy, Normal, and Hard.
A permadeath mode unlocks after completing the game.
“We want as many people as possible to have fun, relax, and enjoy the game. And for those seeking a challenge, we’ll offer an extra dose of adrenaline.”
The core philosophy behind Phantom Blade Zero is to make players feel incredibly powerful rather than punish them for every mistake.
This has always been a problem with parry mechanics nowadays they are functionally op and lack any drawbacks but saying that will upset people because they act like it’s already hard to parry
