I was looking at UK consulting jobs earlier today for some of the bigger firms. All I could think was that even complex businesses overcomplicate and then the consultancy is like "here is how your business is very complicated, very important, very impressive, we use this four letter acronym to help you streamline and achieve your results in an agile and efficient way" It changes not very much but let's a whole raft of middle managers justify that they're "doing something" or "exploring AI" or whatever I am repulsed by a lot of the jargon that gets thrown around. Not to mention that consultancy salaries are opaque (read: "competitive", which means somewhere in the region of £30k) If you want comprehensible solutions that work for your SME, clarify rather than confuse, and won't break the bank, get in contact, consults start at £250. I've helped businesses from greenfield startups to 500+ employees across retail, fashion, media, gambling and education define and refine their value proposition and achieve profitability in under 12 months. DMs are open.

As someone who ran a poker training business, who frequently told people to quit because they had neither the skill or the mindset, this is an objectively bad take from Lowe
Gambling is not evil, and a Restore Britain Government will reduce taxes on the industry. Adults should be free to make their own choices about how they spend their own money - a wild thing for a political party to say, I know. Britain has a successful gambling industry that supports local economies all over the country. In my constituency alone we have horse racing, a greyhound stadium, plenty of arcades and more. We should be encouraging responsible operators to thrive, not taxing them into dust. Problem gambling is an issue and should be properly addressed. But punishing an entire industry, costing thousands of jobs, for the actions of a very small number is not the answer. Restore Britain will back British gambling.

Observations after 5 months off Twitter The men are still bashing the women The women are still bashing the men The "left/right" divide exists, but it is massively amplified on here Both sides of that divide think the other side are retarded In reality almost all of them are retarded This is a place where most people come to express their bitterness, vitriol, and to hate on people. In return they are sharpened by all the other people doing the same thing. The only "productive" conversations I've seen taking place here are investors discussing the odd real estate opportunity but very little networking or lead gen is actually going on Large numbers of gamers fighting each other and publishers Some good creators who mainly publish the good stuff elsewhere, promoting it

Taking half of your earnings from the second you enter the workforce is considered "breathing space"
Breathing space for today, fresh hope for the future.

I live in a small town in England. Every day I walk up the town to get a coffee, I try to say good morning to most people I see. I would say about half the time the first words I hear on the street are in a foreign language. I wonder "how did you end up here? In my corner of nowhere? There's not any particular incentive, work opportunity, or natural feature that would attract you to live here. It's not a particularly cheap town, but it's not wealthy either, it's not a particularly pretty town, or well connected, it doesn't even have a train station. What sequence of events caused you to arrive here and settle"

Back in 2010, the minimum wage was £12,064 and the 'higher earner' band started at £43,875. You only paid 40% tax once you were earning 3.6x the minimum wage. There was clear incentive to progress, learn and aspire for more. As things stand, you now start paying 40% tax once you earn £50,270 which is just 1.83x the minimum wage. If it was the same multiple as 2010, the 'higher earning' band would be £98,841 and everyone below this amount would be paying 20%. Someone on £98,841 is effectively losing out on £9714.20 net per year if the bandings had simply moved in line with previous multiples relative to minimum wage. This is one of the reasons why the middle class is being eroded and why there's a cost of living crisis in the UK.
An increase to £13.20p/h equates to a minimum wage of £27,456, based on a 40 hour week. Once you factor in employers NI and basic pension contributions, the MINIMUM cost to hire a 21 year old for a company would be £31,461. This is before you factor in any overarching business costs like office space, laptops, phone, software, training, support staff, vehicles etc. This is going to be devastating to SME's who cant put together a simple 12 month budget without the goalposts being moved & their margins squeezed. It'll also be catastrophic to youngsters opportunities because businesses will simply not be able to afford to hire them. What's also incredible is that anything above £50,270 is seen as 'high earnings' in the UK and is taxed at 40%! We are governed by financially and economically illiterate morons. This will not end well.

Every single party that has courted the youth vote has failed to achieve anything btw. Every single one. Difficult but true.
Hello all, since there is not a youth movement within Restore already, I am going to start one myself. If you are a member of Restore and between the age of 14-18 please reply to this and I will get you added to the group. Thank you

Anchor baby Nigerian Leader only due to Tory fetishists Deeply unpopular Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch neé Adegoke Your argument is invalid
For the racist little pricks who apparently need this explained: Kemi Badenoch was born in LONDON. She grew up abroad and returned to Britain at 16. She is now 46, married and a mother of three Disagree with her policies. Challenge her arguments. That’s politics. Treating her skin colour or Nigerian heritage as grounds to question whether she belongs here is racism. Have the backbone to own what you’re doing instead of dressing it up as patriotism. Britishness is not a whites-only club, and you miserable bigots are not its membership committee. And any politician who panders to that poison deserves contempt, whatever party badge they wear. She belongs here. Your racism belongs in the fucking gutter.

Worse, they believe they have been taught critical thinking, or that critical thinking is a natural by-product of higher education. In reality, critical, creative thinking is 95th percentile trait and universities dumb it down to take allcomers.
Dealing with modern academics is like dealing with kids. They know nothing and believe whatever they have been told to believe.

A greentext I once saw about the "I F'ing Love Science" FB page accused followers of not loving science but staring at it's ass as it walked by. The confusion of believing oneself knowledgeable, whilst lacking wisdom and discernment, has been an unmitigated disaster.
The confusion of knowledge with virtue has been an unmitigated disaster Perhaps Nietzsche was ultimately correct about Socrates

Flatter wage distribution destroys ambition, increases unemployment, reduces business scalability, and reduces money circulation. The base rate of tax is not 20%, accounting for employer contributions and fuel duty, tax on the median salary is already 41%, excluding VAT.
🚨 NEW: John Healey will increase the minimum wage for over 21s from £12.71 to around £13.20

Wasn't hugely tricky, but would require strategic planning to implement.
Honestly didnt even seem that difficult, didnt even touch health/education/transport Just reduced welfare spending and binned a few pointless things that the private sector already does.
