💜 I have never been more proud of this work empowering women at such a critical time for us to vote in our country. Today and everyday we honor the women who have gone before us paving a way for our rights, our liberty & our equality #19thAmendment #SheDC 💜 – at Washington, DC
Today, we honor the women who stood for justice in the face of oppression, and commit to the work that’s left to achieve true equality.
In DC, we don’t just say women can be strong leaders… We show our young girls that women ARE strong leaders.

Today marks 25 years since our nation incurred a tragedy that shook us to our core.
We'll never forget the eight DC residents, including three DCPS students, who were on the plane that hit the Pentagon, nor the other innocent lives taken that day.
Replying to @councilofdc
Particularly poignant for us—the fact that these kids, who were 11 at the time, would today be the age of our youngest councilmembers
For those unfamiliar with the DCPS students & teachers we lost when Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon, here's the story

Gloria's work may be finished, but there is still much to do.
We must carry Gloria's example forward the only way she'd want: by refusing to accept less than full equality for women and by getting back to work.
