Discord is about to put your public messages on Google
Discord will start making messages from Discoverable public servers searchable on Google and other search engines from mid-December.
The feature is ON by default in most regions, but you can opt out:
User Settings → Data & Privacy → turn off “Show my message content from Discoverable channels on web pages.”
In the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea, it will be OFF by default.
Private servers, DMs and group DMs are not included. Usernames and avatars won’t appear alongside indexed messages.

TURN IT OFF.
Discord will soon make public server messages searchable on Google
The feature will be enabled by default for US adults, but users can opt out in their privacy settings
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Discord's update is limited to future messages (mid-Dec 2026+) from public channels in Discoverable Servers only (a subset of ~63k specific public servers with 1k+ members); not all servers or past messages. Users/admins can opt out.

VTubers, PLEASE learn how to clap for your friends without immediately turning it into a comparison
If your friend hits Partner, gets a huge collab, blows up from a clip, lands a sponsor, whatever-
LET 👏THEM 👏HAVE 👏THEIR 👏MOMENT 👏
You can be proud of them AND still feel a little jealous or insecure sometimes, both can exist
Just maybe don't make their win the exact moment you start posting about how behind you feel 💀
Content creation is already competitive enough without making your friends' wins feel like "proof" you're losing
I want my friends to win stupidly hard that it's pathetic, and I want to win right beside them too

🚨 VTUBERS!!!! 🚨
if you use your browser on stream, i highly suggest you use mullvad as your primary "stream browser." my reason(s) why in the comments ⤵️

Follow up in case this helps anyone else!
Here’s what I did that seems to have fixed this:
- delete the clips
- remove any personal logos, watermarks, and ending cards
- limit 🟪 reference to one png with the logo and my username for a few frames towards the end
- re-export the files + rename to make sure they didn’t contain “stream ladder” and that the file fingerprint was different from the initial upload
🟥 1st upload: 120 views/25 hours, 50% shorts feed traffic
🟩Reupload - over 1k views + 10 subs in the first hour, ~90% shorts feed traffic

Now I understand why my stuff performs much better on Ko-Fi, than on VGen, a platform that I thought helps with discoverability. Like I really want to help VTubers with free assets, this pains me. I am still 100% relying on social media algorithms for my stuff to even reach ppl

The truth is —
With all the changes being made across Twitch & YouTube, it's become harder for small creators to grow . . .
It's why I genuinely think as small creators we have to come together. Cuz no big corpo gonna prioritize us, so we gotta prioritize each other to survive these challenges
To everyone feeling the burnout rn with the algorithm shifts, remember this doesn't take away the fact that you've built something from the ground up, built a community, built a channel, a brand - you all should be proud of yourselves and I hope this reminder reaches y'all cuz I see so many people struggling rn and I hate it, cuz y'all are fucking brilliant creators, especially y'all who find time to work on shit even when life be running amuck; even when you are dragging yourself to stream, record, or edit after working that 9-to-5; that takes dedication and you deserve your spot in this space
Keep fighting, y'all got this. Don't let corpos win by pushing ya out
Much love y'all 💜

Twitch will soon test an "Auto Raid" feature.
It appears to let you create a list of potential raid targets, and if you don't manually raid at the end of your stream, it will automatically select one to raid.
This feature is similar to the now-deprecated "Auto Host".

You can now add the "Stream-o-ween" event tag if you stream Horror Games, Just Chatting, IRL, Art, Music, DJs, Food & Drink, or GRWM content.
Adding it may feature you on a discovery shelf on the homepage.
