The entire economy was rigged in 1971 to destroy America. Deflation is a natural state of any economy. You become more efficient, prices of goods fall, you more make more with less. Inflation is the product of a theft based system. The government spends more than it takes in taxes. Politicians source of power is theft from you, it's the biggest business in the United States which is why the President is the most powerful person in the United States. He's the head of a theft syndicate. Except you can't have too much inflation because then you get thrown out of office, so instead you name a target % of inflation (targeted amount of theft). Well how do you continue to steal more and more without riots? You report lower inflation. How do you lower inflation without taking from the rich? You destroy American wages via mass immigration and outsourcing. So essentially what the government is incentivized to do is destroy your way of life, but it gets worse. This is cheered on by Wall Street because lower interest rates artificially inflate asset prices. The rich get richer for no production, no effort, no success...... just owning things with debt.
