The President’s point, and I fully agree, is that the worst choice is to fall behind and hope our adversaries will responsibly wield a technology with the potential to elevate nations and change civilizations. The best choice is to continue to ensure America has the superior AI, just as we must lead across every technology that will shape the future.

I have concluded the fear mongering around AI is weak and lame We are going to be fine we just need good leaders right now that can do more than 10 push ups and aren't huge dorks

Regulatory capture is a crime against humanity. Stealing progress that would improve lives so that you can extract more wealth from people.

There is no constitutional argument for restricting AI, Americans have rights, we have a right to run and possess our own technology. What Dario is asking for, is a government enforced monopoly. He wants total control over technology as significant as the printing press. He is the modern equivalent of Insulin manufacturers demanding the FDA maintain their monopoly so that they can charge higher prices at the expense of normal people.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. what is it about software development that makes developers think they’re qualified to talk about anything other than software
I think the next insane thing with Astra and 3D will be in manufacturing. Vibe-manufacturing with 3D printers en masse. In all sorts of materials. I’m obsessed with making things on my 3D printer and the biggest issue is always the modeling time. My mom asked me a few weeks ago for a very rare part for her toilet that’s discontinued and I’ve not been able to locate the manufacturers drawing of it to properly model it. I have some photos of the broken part and measurements. Gave it to Astra, alongside with the rest of the info. Astra actually found some manual online with a small 2D drawing, combined with my photos and the measurements it was able to model the part in less than 2 minutes. It made a .stl file, sent it to my printer in Sweden, and 1.5h later the part was printed and ready for my mom to pick up. Absolutely nuts. Everything will be put on its head, hundreds of new multi million dollar businesses will be made. it’s still about creating the glue and value and ensuring repeatable outcomes. But holy cow, I’m just amazed by how incredibly powerful of a moment this is. this is the fusion of digital and physical. and we are just getting started. mindblown 🤯

Grok Bot is incredible, I didn't try it because I thought it used the same limit as my normal subscription. 20 Minutes, and now I can give a bot a screenshot of my schedule, it will add it to my Google Calender flawlessly. Just that one feature will save me hours.

Solving cancer will take jobs of hundreds of thousands of people employed in the medical field. Perhaps you should think about that first before being so pro-AI

American shops have a dozen or two machines from different brands often with fixtures that only work in half the machines for whatever reason. at the same time Chinese shops have hundreds of identical machines meant for true mass production.
This is just one example of what explains the scale in China Screenshot from Chinese propaganda on Instagram
