One year after the Cebu earthquake, and Typhoons Kalmaegi and Fung-Wong struck the Philippines, communities are rebuilding their lives with strength and resilience.
Through the Philippine Red Cross, with support from the @IFRC network and partners, more than 25,000 families received cash assistance to meet their most urgent needs, while shelter support helped families repair and rebuild homes. Health services reached over 33,000 people, and more than 37,000 people gained improved access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Beyond meeting immediate humanitarian needs, operation has helped restore livelihoods, strengthen preparedness and support communities to become more resilient to future shocks.

On #UNDay I think of what the UN looks like from the other side: a tent against the rain, a classroom far from home, the chance to start again after leaving home.. I know what that chance means. It was part of my story. Advancing these values has been the privilege of a lifetime.
