Yesterday, Maria Messitt, Audit Manager for the Irish Potential Organ Donor Audit (IPODA), represented NOCA at the RCSI 4th Annual Advancing Practice Grand Rounds. Maria shared insights on how NOCA’s clinical audits are supporting learning and improvement across the Irish health service, demonstrating how data from the IPODA is helping to identify potential missed opportunities for organ donation, strengthen governance, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. Her presentation also highlighted the importance of patient and public involvement in shaping the audit, and how health equity considerations are being integrated to ensure data truly reflects all communities. We’re proud to see NOCA’s work contributing to national discussions on improving care and advancing practice through evidence, collaboration and patient partnership.
