SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

this is so true and it's not surprising either because Wakanda Forever is one of the best movies the MCU has ever made and yet people barely bring it up when talking about the true highs of the Multiverse saga. it's very obvious why it gets overlooked.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.
the emphasis they're giving the Latverian Witches in the marketing, especially to the orange witch... there's just no way they're some khias like i know #SHE is coming
Vision telling Tommy that Wanda's desperation to hold on to love made her unrecognizable even to herself and that WandaVision was her grief on display hit like a truck... we need to pray for mass healings for Wanda in Secret Wars cause she suffered more than Jesus #VisionQuest
Tommy finally remembering Billy and the events of WandaVision, the WandaVision themes and flashbacks, E.D.I.T.H saying "Vision Residence"... i miss everything about it #VisionQuest
Ultron and Jocasta having such insane chemistry that surpasses several other MCU couples was definitely not something i was expecting for this show but I'm kinda gagging??? James Spader and T'Nia Miller are phenomenal together #VisionQuest
the fact that Ultron, a genocidal AI, finds art and artists as the only good and interesting aspect of humanity when generative AI is so interested in art because it requires it to evolve is such a perfectly ironic parallel and commentary. brilliant writing. #VisionQuest
to think that 11 years ago we were introduced to Wanda, Vision and Ultron in the same movie and now we're watching a show about how complex Vision, Ultron and Tommy all relate to each other is insane... never would've imagined her corner of the MCU to get this big 😭 #VisionQuest
Ghost Rider being shot on film with a great cinematographer, expanding the supernatural corner of the MCU, giving us Ryan Gosling vs. Connor Storrie, potentially setting up the Midnight Sons... and then i remember Shawn Levy is directing it 😭 he better get it together

to be a Wanda fan when they dropped the character posters on new year's day and we got the very first look at her Scarlet Witch costume... y'all weren't there
rewatching the episodes and Vision Quest is striking such a good balance of good writing without compromising its comic book related lore and scale on top of such rich production design, direction and cinematography... this food is so fucking good Lois
the dopamine hit i just got from this... THIS is what Doomsday should be all about and i'm really hoping the Fantastic Four have pivotal roles with good characterization in this movie
