This awful episode goes to the heart of the problem of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programmes and why I am so opposed to them.
DEI means that people from ethnic minorities can be exploited and over-promoted by businesses and institutions that need to tick a box. Even if they are obviously not qualified.
Those enablers within Higher Education and Cambridge University who were so quick to promote someone so obviously not suited to the role have serious questions to answer about the part they played in all of this.
My condolences go to Jason’s family and friends.
