Thrilled to share that I’ve been appointed as Organist and Master of the Music at St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh @StGilesHighKirk, starting in January! The Rieger organ there inspired me to start learning the instrument back in 2010, so it has always been a special place for me.
This does mean that, sadly, I’ll be leaving Exeter Cathedral. I’ve had a wonderful time here, and I cannot recommend the tenor layvicarship highly enough - job description here: exeter-cathedral.org.uk/wp-c…
Devastated to hear about Ian. He was such a great support to me as a mentor and a friend. Rest in peace, old bean.

Lovely to be back in Dublin for a recital at @cccdub 🎵
6pm this evening!
Wonderful concert from @ExeterSingers last night in the beautiful setting of St Michael's, Mount Dinham.
It was also a pleasure to hear the premiere of my 'Irish Blessing', written to mark the end of @MatthewAJeffrey's time as conductor of the group - absolutely amazing singing!
Special birthday treat for me - hearing the @DumnoniiConsort (dir. @MatthewAJeffrey) singing evensong at @ExeterCathedral this evening, including my Preces & Responses!
They’re a fantastic choir, so if you’re in the area, drop in at 5:30pm

Maurice Duruflé's 'Choral varié sur Veni Creator'
My favourite organ piece, and it sounds incredible on the organ of @cccdub

Here's a performance of Messiaen's 'Apparition de l'église éternelle' from 2022.
I put the title into an AI image generator and it came up with some pretty cool stuff. This piece is so powerful, and sounds incredible on the organ at @cccdub

If you're near a radio at 4pm today, tune in to @BBCRadio3 to hear #ChoralEvensong live from @cccdub! They're doing amazing music including beautiful responses by @matthewm76, and my favourite Bairstow anthem. 🔥 Also a very loud introit by me! It will be awesome.

My favourite piece by Widor (way better than the toccata, right?)
Maybe people would enjoy weddings even more if the newly-weds started their procession out accompanied by a cataclysmically loud G minor chord...
Sounds awesome on the @cccdub organ!

Very grateful to @tim_noon for programming this as part of the beautiful @ExeterCathedral Advent Carol Serivce yesterday! I don't always enjoy singing my own music, but yesterday it was a bloomin' pleasure ❤️👌
