Carl Jung was right when he said if the path in front of you is clear, youre probably walking someone elses. the clear path is for people who come later and need an easier way, but the man who wants to forge his own spirit better learn to love the brambles, better learn to name each thorn that cuts him, because only blood prints can mark the way for those who follow, or else your path dies with you.

Most gender posting I see online seems to center on concepts that work well within high-narcissism relationships (relationships where authenticity is suppressed & ego validation is prioritized at the cost of genuine connection).
I think this is why there’s so much of the weird/gamified sexual strategy posting and so little of the stuff about what makes actual connection work.
Actual connection is pretty simple. You show up and delight in another person showing up. There’s work, but it’s more in the realm of clearing out ongoing space for authenticity & grace.
Playing (and winning) weird ego games or fixating on schematic understandings about the opposite sex won’t get you to real connection. It’ll help you win the game of securing narcissistic supply. And if you don’t know the difference that might feel like love.
But the real stuff is a whole different ballgame. No amount of strategizing about how to best disconnect from yourself or manipulate another person to disconnect from themselves will get you there because love requires a mutual, ongoing connection to self. To each person’s spontaneous and honest desires. To ongoing autonomy, and differentiation. Mutually maintaining these things is where the real work of love begins (and continues on & on).

Reading about how Patrick Stewart had a mantra before stepping onto a theater stage or before doing a film take, which was he'd close his eyes, take breath, and say to himself "I don't give a f*ck." lol
Genuinely a great approach to life, understanding you don't have full control of anything, and just trying to enjoy yourself without adhering to any expectation.
RIP Sir Patrick, a real one.
Didn't realize I'd stopped doing this until my childhood bsf came to see me for Halloween and I couldn't stop randomly singing
It stopped when she left, but it's good to know how accessible it is from where I am rn
My adulthood bsf arrives today and I imagine it'll spin back up
Replying to @gptbrooke
I love this! Mine is spontaneous singing, and I recently learned also laughing when alone

The most beautiful aspect of living in alignment with the emotional truths in your heart and the existential truths in your soul is that you are enveloped by synchronicities, to the point that it almost feels a little absurd to still call them such, as though they were occurrences, for it becomes a way of being.
Seeing some dooming about AI on the tl
1) they're not going to completely put a stop to things, they're not as stupid as you give them credit for
2) if they didn't want uneducated folks voting re: AI, there should've been some way to opt out. Forcing it on people was a bad move
You can't make something a ubiquitous part of someone's life, give them no choice or option to opt out, and expect them not to use their vote about it when they form opinions. It's the literal only voice they have in the matter.
Birthday coinciding with election week every other year is getting old. I would prefer my birthdays come with less existential stress

You will not allow yourself to keep anything you don't feel that you deserve. You could be crowned as god emperor of the universe, the resplendent riches of all existence laid at your feet, and you'd give it up, sabotage it, destroy it all, just to prove to that little simpering voice in your head that it was right. None of this was ever supposed to belong to you.
There's a mobile mechanic in Austin seemingly purposefully fucking with my daughter rn and I wish I were a man and a lot closer so I could call him and tell him to cut it tf out or else
As a woman I know that call would only make it worse for her and I'm livid at my helplessness

If you spend all your time optimizing for not getting punched, you never get good at rolling with the punches
The phrase "so what" has become incredibly powerful for me in recent years
Not like "it doesn't matter", but like "Ok, so what if [painfully hard thing to accept] is true? What then? What's next?", sort of as a way to get unstuck from my avoidance of it
"So what if nobody shows up to my class? What happens after?"
"So what if [city/job/relationship] doesn't work out? What would I do?"
"So what if people don't like me? How will that impact me?"
It takes some weight and pressure off, makes it easier to roll with the punches
